Sandbed Cottage is located in the heart of the unspoilt, peaceful Howgill Fells in the Upper Eden Valley. With stunning views of Limestone pavement known locally as Fell End Clouds, which sits at the foot of spectacular Wild Boar Fell. The area is ideal for walking, mountain biking and horse riding, all of which is on the door step, or if you prefer something a little slower, a perfect retreat to relax and unwind.
Sandbed Cottage is a Visit Britain 4 star high quality property which has an open plan living area with slate backed log burner for cosy evenings by the fire on one of the two large comfy sofas with cushions, TV, DVD, WiFi, games and books suitable for all the family. The well equipped modern kitchen has views of Harter Fell also our chickens and geese ranging in the Garth, there is a pine dining table with seating for four.
Going up the locally crafted oak stair case leads to a seating area where guests can watch red squirrels, wood peckers, numerous Gold finches, Red Poll and many more feeding on peanuts and seeds close to the cottage.
Off the landing there are two comfortably furnished bedrooms, main bedroom, king size, second bedroom, two singles, both with a view of the wood where deer can be seen grazing early morning and dusk.
There is a spacious shower room, with heated towel rail and large quadrant power shower, the cottage has oil central heating, and a starter pack for the log burner included.
Outside there is private orchard with seating and a BBQ with views looking towards Wild Boar Fell. Sandbed cottage welcomes dogs and horses by prior arrangement; there are also two stables and a tack room available. £10.00 per night per horse, feed not included, there is no charge for dogs.
