All of the bedrooms in the main house benefit from quality en-suite facilities and boast sublime comfort where a good night’s sleep is guaranteed! Enjoy a touch of class by soaking in the opulent hot tub or steaming in the sauna, watch TV or challenge each other to a table tennis tournament in the games room, before retiring to the spacious sitting area to discuss upcoming adventures. The coastline of the Furness Peninsula offers beaches and good birdwatching, while all the splendour of the Lake District National Park, from the sparkling waters of Windermere to the rugged peaks of Scafell Pike and all the pretty villages dotted between, is just waiting to be discovered. Positioned on a hill overlooking Morecambe Bay is the small village of Bardsea. This remote settlement grew from a small fishing village and farming area to become a major transportation link for coal, iron ore and corn. Today, Bardsea still retains its fishing heritage, and features two pubs, both of which serve fine ales and good food. The village itself is located close to Furness Abbey, whilst the market town of Ulverston is just two miles away, and maintains its street market tradition, hosting one every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year. Ulverston is also the location for many festivals including an amazing lantern procession in November and a Dickensian weekend in early December. With all the attractions of the Lake District National Park within easy driving distance, and the sandy beaches of the Furness coast close by, this peaceful spot has plenty to offer.

Please note: There is an 11pm curfew at the property - please can we observe these hours of rest and minimalise the noise - guests who are in breach of the above rules, will be asked to leave the property.

Please note: Dogs must be kept on a lead outside at all times as there are animals in the area.

    There was something for everything in the house .. plenty of space, so we could escape one another if we wanted to! The farm, hot tub and games room were a lovely additions. We didn’t used the sauna but it liked v clean. The kitchen was brilliant as was the caretaker that walked us through how everything worked. Couple of comments but didn’t effect our enjoyability. 1. We rescued two birds from the fire place .. the chimney needs a wire cover. 2. The top floor - there was a fly infestation and where it has not been used for a while the kettle had mould in it and the place smelt musty. The shower didn’t work properly, needs attention. All other rooms were perfect and there were plenty of them for our group of 20 people. We had a fabulous time and would definitely use the property again.

    The house was very well equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The games room and hot tub were also a huge hit with everyone. We had an issue with the single room in the mezzanine as there was a strong smell of drains, we did alert the housekeeper and followed the advice but unfortunately it didn’t resolve. However it wasn’t significant enough to spoil our stay. We hope to be back in the future!

    We would suggest a pool table and dart board for the future The cooking trays did not fit the ovens and there was only 6 teaspoons. Otherwise the facility was excellent
