About this property

This superb, detached cottage is situated on the coast with far-reaching sea views across Morecambe Bay, just eight miles from Ulverston. Beautifully presented to a high standard, this cottage is ideally suited for friends and family wishing to enjoy time together whilst enjoying this attractive shoreline. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a glass Juliet balcony to make the most of this special location. The ground floor has a magnificent kitchen which is well equipped with granite surfaces, a large kitchen island with seating and a spacious dining area. There is also a large sitting room with comfortable sofas and an electric fire which is ideal for relaxing in the evenings. The orangery is an added bonus at this property as it is a fabulous light filled room with underfloor heating and soft seating. Open the bi-fold doors and step out to enjoy the sea air and have an alfresco meal or drink whilst taking in the breathtaking ever-changing vistas. The views across Morecambe Bay will blow you away and can be seen from all rooms at the front of the property. Outside there are patio areas at both the front and rear with a lawn area but hop across the coastal road and you have the coastline, beaches and a slip way to explore. When the tide and wind conditions prevail you can windsurf or try kitesurfing. In Barrow in Furness there are the interesting Furness Abbey ruins and locally you can visit Walney Island, Fouley Island or one of the nearby nature reserves. Heading east along the coast you reach the vibrant tow of Ulverston with its many festivals as well as a good choice of shops, restaurants and the Laurel and Hardy Museum. Explore the southern tip of Windermere at Newby Bridge where you can catch the boats to Bowness and Ambleside or explore Duddon Valley with its many paths, some dating back to medieval monks. At the end of your days’ activities relax and enjoy this outstanding cottage while soaking up the amazing scenery.

A Victorian town with a proud heritage, Barrow-in-Furness is situated just where the Lakes meet the sea, at the south tip of Cumbria just to the north of Morecambe Bay. Influenced by the history of Britain’s shipbuilding, the town is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Lake District Mountains and surrounded by glorious beaches, fantastic scenery and wonderful coastal walks. As the Furness peninsula’s main shopping town, there are a wealth of leisure and tourist attractions, with an excellent range of cafes, bars and nightlife.
