About this property

Nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac at the foot of Winder Fell and just a short walk from all the amenities of Sedbergh, with a selection of shops, pubs and cafés, is Bramble Cottage. This charming, small, mid-terrace property offers a lovely base for touring the Yorkshire Dales National Park, where you can relax on return from long walks over the fells. This cottage is well-suited to couples and small families seeking a varied holiday in a fascinating part of the country, with plenty of hidden gems to explore in the area. Furnished and decorated to a good standard, you can unwind in the cosy sitting room and overlook the garden while enjoying a home-cooked meal at the dining table(can be extended to sit 6), prepared in the well-equipped kitchen next door. You have two lovely bedrooms to choose form to catch your rest in, while the family bathroom is ideal for a long hot soak in the tub or a refreshing shower each morning before you step out to discover all the delights of the Yorkshire. Dine alfresco in the summer time and enjoy the privacy of having your own outside space as you sip a cool glass of your favorite tipple. You are only a short distance from the town's market place, which is held on the car park at the eastern end of the main street each Wednesday. The property location is a walkers paradise and perfect for dogs, scenic and rural. You also have a traditional, Yorkshire pub, delicious restaurants and takeaways, along with various other amenities. There is a network of walking in the area, with trails leading you away from the crowds in unspoilt hills and valleys. From Woodside Avenue there is a footpath that takes you to Howgill Lane and from there you can follow a popular route through Lockbank Farm to the top of Winder and beyond. A popular attraction is Farfield Mill arts and heritage centre on the Garsdale road, just outside Sedbergh and for anyone interested in history, the Quaker Meeting House a mile down the Kirkby Lonsdale road is well worth a visit. Discover The Howgills with its fantastic opportunities to enjoy the night sky, explore the Yorkshire Dales and the Lake District National Parks, then return to this romantic, Sedbergh cottage at the end of each day.

Sedburgh is a market town, which sits just inside the Yorkshire Dales National Park, though within incredibly easy reach of all the attractions of the Lakes as well. The town has a 12th century church and a well-known school, and to stroll there feels like you have taken a step back in time. Sedburgh is one of England's book town's, and book-lovers will happily spend hours browsing the different bookshops and dealers before popping to one of the weekly markets held throughout the year, or having a bite to eat in one of the pubs, cafes and restaurants.

It was perfect for 2 people and in a great location for both the Dales and the Lakes. Bed was very comfy with great pillows. Central heating very efficient. Would definitely recommend.

The cottage was spotlessly clean and well appointed and was so comfortable and quiet. It was well located in the town of Sedbergh and was a perfect base to explore West Yorkshire and Cumbria.
