The Old Byre is a superb cottage created out of a mellow brick barn that provides really classy accommodation. It offers lots and lots of luxury with a fantastic lounge, superb kitchen, lovely bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and a glowing log burning stove to top it all. BT Vision TV and Wi Fi are an extra bonus. 

It also has a lovely rural location on the edge of the pretty village of Barlow with the 'Hare and Hounds' pub at the end of the lane and the popular 'Tickled Trout' just a stroll away. Wander a little further and you are in Cordwell Valley with its rhododendron clad sides and views out across the Peak District hills. Chesterfield with its historic market square, 'crooked spire', cinemas and new shopping centre is but a ten-minute drive in the opposite direction.

Children and adults alike will enjoy Gulliver's Kingdom, the Chestnut Owl and Otter Sanctuary and Carsington's adventure playground. What about a pudding in Bakewell, a cable car ride in Matlock Bath and a visit to Chatsworth House? Peak Rail's steam trains and the nostalgia of Crich's Tramway Museum are just as easy to get to!         

Cottage facilities:

A hall with cupboard space for coats and boots. A magnificent lounge with glowing log burning stove, luxurious sofas, T.V., DVD, BT Vision and Wi-Fi. A lovely dining room with birch table, chairs and C.D player. A quality fitted kitchen with induction hob, double oven, microwave, large fridge/freezer and dishwasher. A utility room with automatic washer-dryer. An attractive galleried double bedroom with en-suite shower room with large shower and W.C. A smaller double bedroom on the ground floor with en-suite bathroom with bath, large shower and W.C. A upstairs twin bedroom with en-suite shower room with shower and W.C. A cloakroom with W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, under floor heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is a sunny patio with furniture, large front garden, rear paddock and  table tennis in the large double garage. Parking for up to six cars is available. Pets are allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be possible. Please ask for details.

Weekly bookings are normally Saturday to Saturday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas and New Year.
