Head up the elegant, spiral staircase in the centre of the room and take yourself up to the first floor under the eaves, with the chapel's original wooden beams providing a sense of charm. Both bedrooms; a double and a twin room, are thoughtfully decorated to make you feel right at home here at The Old Chapel. Velux windows offer wondrous views of the surrounding area, the perfect sight to wake up to. The property is topped off with a splendid family bathroom, where you can get ready in style for a night of food and drinks in the local White Horse Pub. Revel in your surroundings by taking a seat on the lawned area to the front of the property; why not watch the sunrise with your morning coffee or the sunset with your evening glass of wine? Handley is a peaceful spot to spend your holiday, it's also an excellent base for touring the surrounding area. The picture-postcard Ogston Reservoir not only provides wonderful views, but also a sailing club. Why not visit the Peak District national park and their wonderful towns Bakewell, Matlock, Ashbourne not far from the Old Chapel. In Derbyshire you will find Stately Homes such as Chatsworth, Haddon and Hardwick.Castles such as Pevril and Bolsover – all offering a great sense of history. For the children their is the adventure playground and farm at Chatsworth. There are many teashops, pubs and restaurants offering welcome refreshments after a thirsty day spent sight seeing. Matlock is an all year round attraction with its spa and Heights of Abraham with able cars, not far away is Arkwrights Mill at Cromford.Other Derbyshire attractions are the Caves at Castleton, Carsington Water, Crich Tramway Museum, and Riber Castle.There really is something for everyone. A unique cottage in a tranquil location.

In the Derbyshire Dales, Handley is two miles from Clay Cross and has a shop and three pubs. Three miles west is the village of Ashover. In the Amber Valley and close to Matlock, this location offers a golf course and several pubs. Matlock also offers fine eateries, shops and a museum. The town centre has Leys Hall Park, a place for bowls, tennis and boating. Gulliver's Kingdom, Matlock Gorge and The High Peak Cycle Trail are close by, making this a wonderful area.

    We were greeted warmly by the owner. The chapel conversion has been done to a very high standard. The views from the property are terrific. The location really does provide peace and tranquility with towns and places of interest nearby. Thoroughly recommend this property.

    The area views are outstanding and the Old Chapel is so peaceful. The double bed was comfortable and plenty of fresh towels. The owner was very friendly and we loved chatting with them. We will be back
