About this property

The Yellow House is just brilliant as it oozes quality with its lovely decor and drapes, oak floors and doors, exposed stone walls, leather Chesterfield sofas and a glowing log burning stove. It also provides lots of spacious accommodation with a large lounge, orangery, dining room, dining kitchen, four large bedrooms and three bathrooms. And then there is the extensive landscaped garden, patio and summer house!

Surrounded by rolling countryside it is conveniently located for all Derbyshire's myriad of holiday attractions. Alfreton the nearest town has lots of little shops and a Tesco supermarket. Turn the other way and you are soon travelling across the beautiful Amber Valley to Matlock and  Bakewell, with their country town shops, and the fantastic Peak District National Park beyond.

This is the last description I am writing this year so please forgive the following. Matlock Bath with its dramatic scenery and lots of attractions is almost unbelievable. Chatsworth House with its Emperor Fountain is incredible. The views from Frogatt Edge always send a shiver down my spine. Sam our youngest likes feeding the ducks in Bakewell. Robert and Harriet think Peak Rail's Steam trains are great. Jessica and Richard always get soaked rafting out to Carsington's islands. Lizzy is hooked on Alton Towers! 

Cottage Facilities:

 A very attractive lounge with quality leather suite, T.V., DVD, Freeview, CD, Wi-Fi and glowing log burning stove. An orangery with comfortable furniture, T.V and French doors to the garden. A lovely dining room with solid oak table and chairs, traditional dresser and door to the garden. A dining kitchen with bespoke units, hob, double oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, automatic washer and small T.V. A spacious master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite shower room with W.C. Two further double bedrooms of the same high quality. A similar twin bedroom.  A family bathroom with roll top bath, separate large shower and W.C. A downstairs bathroom with roll top bath, separate large shower and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included. A cot and high chair can be requested. There is an extensive landscaped garden, patio and decking with summer house, sun loungers and furniture. Parking for four cars is available. Pets are allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult. Bookings are from Friday to Friday.

Short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
