Situated on the edge of the owners’ working farm yet offering privacy, this detached holiday property is an ideal location for family gatherings, celebrating a birthday or anniversary, or for those who wish to escape and unwind on a holiday in a quiet part of Devon. Close to Dartmoor Wildlife Trust Nature Reserve and within 24 acres of tranquil meadowland, the area is a wonderful spot for walking, bird watching or looking for local wildlife. The lodge has been decorated and finished to a very good standard, offering spacious accommodation. With an open fire in the living room, S19376 is ideal for all year round holidays. With stunning views over the surrounding countryside, the property has its own private, outdoor, secluded seating area and is ideal for al fresco dining. Guests can enjoy the indoor games room with table football, small pool table, TV and darts. Just a few miles off the Devon Expressway, S19376 is well situated for all attractions such as sandy beaches at Teignmouth, Dawlish and Sidmouth, as well as many tourist attractions. The area is a haven for birdwatchers, and walkers can enjoy many stunning walks. Pretty Bovey Tracey, one mile, with its numerous shops, pubs and cafés, is known as the ‘Gateway to Dartmoor’, which has one of the best known national parks, offers stunning scenery to ride, walk and fish in. There are a variety of golf clubs nearby. The locality offers a hugely varied range of walks, through woodland, along the coast or nearby on Dartmoor. Dartmoor has so much to offer from its heather-clad tors to dramatic landscapes, Dartmoor ponies, to quaint villages offering Devon cream teas. For a family day out take a trip to Crealy, or spend a day in Exeter, visit the magnificent cathedral, shops, take a look around the quay where there are little caves turned into shops, or walk the canal path and find the hidden pubs only reached by foot. Torquay offers boat trips from the harbour over to Brixham, or visit Living Coasts where penguins wander freely. Agatha Christie’s house at Greenway is a must for fans of crime novels. There are many National Trust properties all close by. Haldon is also close by offering fantastic cycle ways and Go Ape, perfect for the active visitor. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

"S19376 is a very spacious and comfortable holiday home, there were 9 of us plus a dog and there was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The kitchen had all the equipment you require and the games room kept both the children and adults entertained.When we encountered a problem, the owners were very helpful and responded quickly to resolve itThe only criticism we have is the wet room could benefit from rails or shower seat. My mother aged 91with reduced mobility, although enjoyed her stay, felt nervous using the shower.Location was central to local attractions with nearest dog friendly beach 30 minute easy drive to Teignmouth.We would certainly consider booking S19376 again"

"A lovely house in a quiet location. The little ones loved seeing the cows and the adults enjoyed the splendid views. It was equipped with everything we needed, and some!!! The lack of local amenities did not detract from our enjoyment. Major supermarkets deliver and Gail had thoughtfully provided milk, teabags etc plus an excellent home made cake on our arrival. The games room was a great way to keep the kids entertained while we cooked.We can recommend the Palk Arms in nearby Hennock for good pub food at a very reasonable price, (most main courses only £10)."

A fabulous welcome pack with all essentials included and even a yummy home made cake from the owner. The directions were spot on as well so we had no problems finding the cottage. "Plenty of space and suitable for two families each with two young children and a more remote bedroom for grandparents. Provided a good base to visit local tourist spots (Trago Mills, Torquay, Canonteign Falls etc.) . Approach is a bit tortuous along narrow roads with some passing places, but we had a number of visiting friends who found us successfully."

"S1937630620, Hennock, Bovey TraceyAugust 2015 (4a 3c 1dog) Superb House with everything you need for an enjoyable break.The owner lives up the drive at the main Farm House and greeted us upon arrival, we were welcomed with an overview of the house and basics we needed to know.They had cooked some fresh Shortbread that went down a treat, along with a large bag of their locally grown Potatoes that seen us through the week, and some basic drink supplies that was all a nice touch.The House itself was nice and clean, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry, and plenty of comfy seating in the living room for us all.The bedrooms are nice and spacious, with a nice big family bathroom upstairs. The downstairs room is handy for any less able people and a big wet room across the hall was also handy.The playroom in the garage had enough to keep us entertained on the wet days, and we enjoyed the selection of board games on the nights.It’s in a good location to explore the area, but secluded enough to enjoy the peace and quiet of the local countryside.Bovey Tracey is a short drive down the lanes, and if you don’t fancy cooking there are a number of takeaways that will fulfil your needs.Overall a great house in a lovely location, and I’d recommend it to anyone who was thinking of booking it.Many Thanks to the owners.Rowlands/Cooper Family"

"Bottom Rock Lodge is in a superb location, very quiet and restful. The views from the house are uninterrupted and spectacular. The owners are very friendly and do not intrude on your holiday but are close enough if there should be any problems. The house is very comfortable and homely and WIFI was sufficient for the holiday. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom is fantastic for people who can't manage the stairs. The garden was great for the dog and secure, would have been nice to have had a barbecue in the garden."

"It was really great staying in Bottor Rock. Drive to the cottage was excellent. And you cant ask for a better location. It is in middle of a farm; very well secluded. The owners were very helpful and are staying just couple of blocks away; they are always there of any help you need. We spent more time in the kitchen and the sports room. They even greeted us with a cake and a bag full of potatoes; which we thought was very touchy.We had a great time out there and we will definitely come back again."
