Multiple holiday lets sleeping up to 10 guests in total
Two unique cabins sleeping up to 10
Hidden amongst the deep lanes of West Devon is an amazing, off-grid sanctuary. Designed to offer cosy and comfortable, year round accommodation, Devon Dens has two of the sweetest, solid timber cabins sleeping up to four and six, all set in a beautiful, two-acre woodland.
With hammocks, games, books, woodburners, fire-pits and even guitars - you just need to bring the camp-fire tales and marshmallows.
The site is surrounded by woodland, wildlife and starry skies. Perfect for escaping from the hullabaloo. So, if you're seeking a tech-free, stress-free break, want to enjoy local walks or venture further afield to Dartmoor or beautiful beaches, or you just want time to sit, switch off and read, then this is the bee’s knees.
The woodland is in one of the least light-polluted areas in England and is surrounded by wonderful countryside. There are many local footpaths for wandering, passing through delightful villages and taking in the local pub. From vineyards to cider makers, bacon and sausages to eggs, honey and cheese, we're keen as mustard to introduce you to the delights on offer in the area and can provide you with a basket of goodies for your stay. We also have our very own kitchen garden which can supply guests with delicious, home-grown produce.
We think this area is Devon's best kept secret - with castles, gorges, secret swimming spots and some of the best beaches in the country within easy reach. Nearby Roadford Lake, three miles away, offers a smorgasbord of activities such as bird watching, archery, canoeing, wind-surfing and a circular cycle route with tea rooms.
Devon Dens is a natural environment, with a beautiful stream, pond, and features which some parents may not be comfortable with - such as no railings on the mezzanine bed - and no-go areas, such as the polytunnel.
We don't want to create a sterile, generic space - we want it to be fun with a sense of freedom. We have lots of kids come to stay, and get great feedback. However, it's not for everyone and if you do bring small ones, it's at your own risk.
We also welcome one, well-behaved pooch in each cabin, along with responsible dog owners who pick up their poo, keep them off the furniture and under control.
The Devon Den:
The Den is one of two beautiful cabins on site. Available year-round and sleeping up to four with a brilliant, hot outdoor shower and compost toilet, this super cosy cabin is set in its own private area, with a huge picnic bench and fire-pit / BBQ. There’s loads of games and books and information about what’s to do nearby and further afield.
The Carpenters Cabin:
Designed to offer comfortable year round accommodation, this stunning, contemporary but cosy cabin, which sleeps up to six, sits beautifully looking out over the pond. There’s everything you need to escape, including a hammock, games, books, jigsaws, fire-pit, BBQ, wood burner, even central heating for the colder months. With an internal shower room, mezzanine with two singles, bedroom with king size bed plus two sofa beds, there’s lots of space for families or small groups of friends.
The two cabins can be rented together to sleep up to 10.
