A beautiful thatched property, peacefully located in the village of East Burton near Wool in Dorset. Perfect for families or friends who wish to enjoy the beautiful surrounding area of Dorset and the unesco World Heritage Jurassic Coastline, and just 5 miles from the famous picturesque Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. The Jurassic Coastline is home to over 300 coastal country walks, offering some breathtaking views over Dorset’s 200 million year old shoreline. This lovely cottage is located down a quiet country lane, yet just one mile and easy walking distance from the town of Wool for easy rail access to the rest of Dorset including Dorchester, Weymouth, Poole and Bournemouth. It’s easy to imagine life here as it was portrayed by Thomas Hardy’s in his fictional books, Thomas Hardy’s birthplace is also close by.
The large, well-maintained, enclosed garden offers plenty of outdoor seating as well as a private swimming pool, and a summerhouse providing accommodation for two guests. The lawned area is ideal for badminton, soft tennis and other garden games. Colts Close Cottage provides an excellent base for cycling, walking and bird watching as well as family days out to local stunning beaches. From the world famous Sandbanks, Weymouth Sea Life Centre, Bovington Tank Museum, Monkey World and Brownsea island, there is so much to do nearby. The county town of Dorchester is home to Roman relics, Brewery Square and the pioneering architectural royal development of Poundbury. Weymouth’s sandy beach and historic waterfront harbour are certainly worth a visit. Head over to the Isle of Portland, home to the world famous National Sailing Academy, which was host to the 2012 Olympic Games. Beach 5½ miles. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
