"The cottage it self was well equipped and comfortable, unfortunately there was a main road right at the front and a country lane at the rear of the property, hence the noise from the traffic was horrendous. The first thing we noticed when entering the property was the smell of damp, quite a bit of the plaster was peeling away from the dining room walls. The cottage was generally clean on the surface but attention is definitely needed to the areas behind and under the furniture, my dogs toy rolled under the welsh dresser and upon retrieving it, it was absolutely covered in dust, fluff and dog hairs. There were quite a few cobwebs all over the cottage, again, a feather duster would not go amiss. The cottage was well furnished but was let down by the lack of cleanliness and noisy traffic. We were looking for a quite few days away but felt like we were in the middle of a race course."

"we found the road very busy and fast parking not ideal ,there was a smell of damp in the cottage . There was no welcome pack the local shop had closed down the local pub was very friendly .We had booked a weeks holiday but only stayed one night because we found it was not suitable for us."

"Lovely restful holiday"

"Had a really good short break at S72838 and have fallen in love with Dorset. There are some great local hill walks and the coast is a short distance away. The cottage itself is beautiful inside, 3 spacious bedrooms and has a modern feel. Wi-fi kept the teenagers happy and of course it is pet friendly. It is on a main road but this in no way was detrimental - the road is generally not that busy and sound insulation is very good. There are some lovely country views from the upstairs windows. So ok, if you want to sit in the garden it might not be for you. But I can say without hesitation that I would stay here again.Cleanliness generally good, perhaps under sofas and hidden areas need more attention, but hey, I have the same issues at home! The stairs are very steep, definitely not for the elderly and others need to take care. But all-in-all, exceeded my expectation."

"Probably the best equipped and most practical dog friendly cottage I have stayed in. Lower marks are based on factors outside the owners control such as the internet speed and lack of amenities in the immediate village. Pub nearby is like something out of The League of Gentlemen but possibly worth a visit for that reason alone. The nearby hill fort is a great and safe place to walk a dog though and has great views on a clear day. The location is excellent for exploring the towns and villages on the Jurassic Coast from Weymouth to Beer within a relatively short drive and the fish and chip van in Broadwindsor on a Tuesday which you can eat in the local dog friendly pub is a great idea. Overall an excellent cottage which is great for dog owners, with helpful and friendly owners."

"Well stocked cottage easy holiday living. Comfy beds. Lots of board games dvds and books. Good position for visiting Dorset. Dorset welcomes dogs everywhere. Lovely walks highly recommend Lyme Regis fossil hunt fascinating for all agesOn,y downside on busy road with another lane behind"

"Could be such a lovely cottage, views are fantastic and the back lanes offer nice walks, but it desperately needs a good clean."
Karen – 16 Feb 2018
"A really cosy welcoming cottage. We felt at home straight away. The log burner was wonderful. We had a really relaxing break, which was much needed."
Den – 19 Jan 2018
"Lovely, well equipped holiday home with everything needed for a week away. Views really Lovely. Wood burner for cold cosy evening's. Ideally placed to visit lots of places. Lyme Regis beach a hit with our dog dottie! The downside is the road outside and lane behind! Which can be busy and fast! Also the cottage is old and has some damp problems, we were away in January and it rained a lot so maybe in summer not such a problem?"
Lynda – 22 Dec 2017
"No pavements and a very busy road so could not walk dogs without getting car out. As a dog friendly cottage this should have been mentioned in the cottage details because we wouldn’t have booked it.Nice cottage, comfy beds, lovely Xmas decorations."
Jayne – 24 Nov 2017
"We had a lovely time at S72838. Quiet place out of town or village x"
Liz – 3 Nov 2017
"The cottage itself is very comfortable and clean. We found the traffic very busy on the road to the front of the cottage. There is no path to walk on. The garden, you couldn`t sit in because of traffic noise. We like to stay in a quieter location but that is our choice. There are lovely views from this property."
Confirmed guest – 27 Oct 2017
"Very disappointed with our stay. Place was not clean enough and I had to hoover up a load of dog hair as I arrived. The cottage suffers from damp and has air fresheners in all rooms but this does not mask the smell. Garden v small and on main Rd but we didn’t visit during good weather so this not a problem."
Terence – 22 Sep 2017
"Best equipped cottage we have stayed in.Lovely views and very comfortable."
Patrick – 15 Sep 2017
"Whilst S72838 was very comfortable, well equipped and clean and enjoyed good wifi connection the external features are extremely limited with only a very small garden and lawn which needed cutting. We would prefer a property where the is a reasonable size of garden for sitting out and, perhaps, al fresco eating. The cottage enjoys a pleasant rural outlook and is within reasonable driving distance of many attractions. We do have to mention the pictures within the property. We have never before been in a cottage with quite so many pictures on the walls - very nice."
Bob – 25 Aug 2017
"The cottage is well equipped and comfortable inside and has the best selection of board games, but suffers from being significantly damp. The garden is very small and offers no sunshine Being so close to the main road makes it unsuitable for children or pets to be outside. A shame as the area around the cottage location is beautiful. It is overpriced currently and therefore poor value"
Teifion – 4 Aug 2017
"This cottage is exelent very clean, pity the weather was not kind to us,drain to the left of front door was blocked,we cleaned it out but water is still slow causing damp patch in r/hand corner of dinning room, would u please inform owner for me,thank u for a nice break, do u cover north Wales, if so,I would like a brochure thank u all"
Terry – 7 Jul 2017
"Lovely cottage, shame garden wasn't bigger, neighbour was a bit unfriendly although the cottage is dog friendly, they do bark and he didn't like it. As it wasn't even 7 o'clock in the evening there was no need to be rude, as we did try to keep the noise down as we knew there was youngsters next door. Apart from that we had a great stay there !!!!!"
Linda – 2 Jun 2017
"We (nan & Grandad, mum& dad and two grandchildren)really enjoyed our stay at S72838. Really welcoming and cosy feel. Beds really comfortable. Good facilities. Owners have gone the extra mile with providing lots of local information, walks, board games, books, etc.Would definitely recommend."
Jenny – 26 May 2017
"Lovely, cosy, well equipped cottage. Beautiful views and stunning sunsets, just missed a bit more outdoor space. There is a small garden to the side of the property, unfortunately you can not sit and enjoy the view from there. Such a shame your local pub had closed a few months before our stay too! No shops in Marshwood, which did not bother us as plenty of places nearby to go and visit and some very, very beautiful beaches which have dog friendly areas on most. Some lovely walks nearby too. Owner very helpful prior to stay and good welcome pack at the cottage with plenty of information. Overall a very enjoyable week."
sarah – 17 Apr 2017
"S72838 was a great find, very well equipped and not too far from Dorsets attractions. We would return & would highly recommend!"
CORRIE – 14 Apr 2017
"Lovely cottage with all the facilities you could think of and more centrally located providing you have a car, unfortunately the local pub -the Bottle Inn has closed down meaning a 5-10minute drive to the next nearest making it difficult to eat out as a special trip out is needed unless you are happy to order a take away. Plenty of places to walk dogs - just be careful of the main road and the life stock."
Jackie – 13 Mar 2017
"Lovely cottage. Shame the local pub is closing shortly. Please tell the owner that I watered the indoor plants. We had a lovely time."
Jenny – 10 Mar 2017
"A very comfy cottage. We enjoyed our stay despite the weather and visited lots of beaches with our dogs. Would happily return,"
Jacqueline – 17 Feb 2017
"This is a wonderful cottage. Comfortable, well equipped and thoughtfully furnished. The heating worked well and plentiful hot water and the log burner made for cosy evenings. The location is beautiful, we had cows in the field at the back and sheep at the front. Not a shop in sight which suited us but good to have wifi to check "where to visit next". Although the cottage is away from it all still only about six miles from Lyme Regis and easy access to variety of supermarkets. Weather was really kind to us and we only had one day when murky drizzle lasted all day but we still took our Scottie to the beach. At this time of year all beaches are dog friendly and we really made the most of that. Nearly all sea front cafes are dog friendly as are the non food shops. We always visit Dorset in February and have always had a restful week , this year was no different and it was an added pleasure to return to S72838 each day . I know the owners are new to the holiday business and wish them well."
