"The cottage it self was well equipped and comfortable, unfortunately there was a main road right at the front and a country lane at the rear of the property, hence the noise from the traffic was horrendous. The first thing we noticed when entering the property was the smell of damp, quite a bit of the plaster was peeling away from the dining room walls. The cottage was generally clean on the surface but attention is definitely needed to the areas behind and under the furniture, my dogs toy rolled under the welsh dresser and upon retrieving it, it was absolutely covered in dust, fluff and dog hairs. There were quite a few cobwebs all over the cottage, again, a feather duster would not go amiss. The cottage was well furnished but was let down by the lack of cleanliness and noisy traffic. We were looking for a quite few days away but felt like we were in the middle of a race course."

"we found the road very busy and fast parking not ideal ,there was a smell of damp in the cottage . There was no welcome pack the local shop had closed down the local pub was very friendly .We had booked a weeks holiday but only stayed one night because we found it was not suitable for us."

    "Lovely restful holiday"

"Had a really good short break at S72838 and have fallen in love with Dorset. There are some great local hill walks and the coast is a short distance away. The cottage itself is beautiful inside, 3 spacious bedrooms and has a modern feel. Wi-fi kept the teenagers happy and of course it is pet friendly. It is on a main road but this in no way was detrimental - the road is generally not that busy and sound insulation is very good. There are some lovely country views from the upstairs windows. So ok, if you want to sit in the garden it might not be for you. But I can say without hesitation that I would stay here again.Cleanliness generally good, perhaps under sofas and hidden areas need more attention, but hey, I have the same issues at home! The stairs are very steep, definitely not for the elderly and others need to take care. But all-in-all, exceeded my expectation."

"Probably the best equipped and most practical dog friendly cottage I have stayed in. Lower marks are based on factors outside the owners control such as the internet speed and lack of amenities in the immediate village. Pub nearby is like something out of The League of Gentlemen but possibly worth a visit for that reason alone. The nearby hill fort is a great and safe place to walk a dog though and has great views on a clear day. The location is excellent for exploring the towns and villages on the Jurassic Coast from Weymouth to Beer within a relatively short drive and the fish and chip van in Broadwindsor on a Tuesday which you can eat in the local dog friendly pub is a great idea. Overall an excellent cottage which is great for dog owners, with helpful and friendly owners."

"Well stocked cottage easy holiday living. Comfy beds. Lots of board games dvds and books. Good position for visiting Dorset. Dorset welcomes dogs everywhere. Lovely walks highly recommend Lyme Regis fossil hunt fascinating for all agesOn,y downside on busy road with another lane behind"

"Could be such a lovely cottage, views are fantastic and the back lanes offer nice walks, but it desperately needs a good clean."
    Karen – 20 Feb 2018
"A really cosy welcoming cottage. We felt at home straight away. The log burner was wonderful. We had a really relaxing break, which was much needed."

"Lovely, well equipped holiday home with everything needed for a week away. Views really Lovely. Wood burner for cold cosy evening's. Ideally placed to visit lots of places. Lyme Regis beach a hit with our dog dottie! The downside is the road outside and lane behind! Which can be busy and fast! Also the cottage is old and has some damp problems, we were away in January and it rained a lot so maybe in summer not such a problem?"
    Lynda – 27 Dec 2017
"No pavements and a very busy road so could not walk dogs without getting car out. As a dog friendly cottage this should have been mentioned in the cottage details because we wouldn’t have booked it.Nice cottage, comfy beds, lovely Xmas decorations."
