"We really enjoyed staying at Pigs House. So comfortable and clean, everything thing you needed was there, we would have liked it better if we could walk out to eat, but we had to use the car. Lovely time had and we would go back."
Gavin – 1 Nov 2018
"A lovely cottage in beautiful, peaceful countryside."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pigs House. Accommodation was excellent, the location was peaceful and ideal for us. Wildlife and farm animals surround you. Ideal location to visit Dorset, Devon and Somerset.Facilities at the accommodation were excellent. Everything you need for your stay. Spacious but cosy at the same time.Would definitely recommend the Pigs House to anyone who enjoys being in a quiet location. However, plenty to do within driving distances."
James – 7 Sep 2018
"Pigs House is a beautiful, cosy little holiday cottage. On arrival there were fresh, homemade scones with cream and jam - very welcome after the long journey. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you could possibly need. The dining area is spacious with a large table and chairs, living area is cosy with a log burner (even though it was too hot to have it lit when we stayed). The bathroom is again, very spacious with a good, powerful shower. The bedroom is comfortable with ample wardrobe space and a nice, comfortable bed. The outdoor patio area has a table and two chairs, perfect for sitting out and enjoying the countryside views, there is also a BBQ with charcoal provided. Overall, this cottage is amazing - well equipped and every little detail is thought of. We would definitely consider booking again if we are in the area."
Mike – 31 Aug 2018
"If you are looking for a secluded peaceful relaxing holiday location, this is it. The property is stunning. It is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Whilst in a rural setting you are no more than 30-40 minutes from plenty of local sights/activities. The welcome pack of scones, jam, cream and local bread is an excellent touch and certainly much appreciated after a long drive. We will certainly look to book again."
Alec – 17 Aug 2018
"Fantastic property and location. The welcome pack of scones/butter/jam was a lovely touch. The attention to detail and facilities in the Pig's House were excellent. Will definitely be back."
Kate – 6 Aug 2018
"If you love peace and quiet this is definitely the place to go."
Danny – 27 Jul 2018
"very relaxing holiday the cottage was a lovely place to stay we had everything we needed. it was a very hot week and a fan would have been lovely but then everyone in the west country would think the same thing and our weather is so unpredictable who knows when we will get another summer like this again. watching the deer and foxes so close was an added bonus to a wonderful week."
Confirmed guest – 2 Jul 2018
"We stayed from the 29/06/18-2/07/18, found it a very welcoming on arrival. Scones and jam a nice touch, found it clean and comfortable.Ron & Carol"
Diana – 22 Jun 2018
"A beautiful cottage, very spacious and comfortable. We very much enjoyed the welcome pack of bread, butter, milk and a cream tea. It's pretty much in the middle of nowhere, but if that's what you're looking for, it's perfect!"
Alice – 8 Jun 2018
"We LOVED Pigs House- we wanted quality comfort in a totally peaceful location with a glorious view and a warm ( Freshly baked scones with jam and clotted cream and local butter no less!) welcome. The cottage and contents were immaculate and the guest information pack was comprehensive so the subtle nuances of the cooker and microwave and wi-fi were fuly explained. The little store in the village was at the lower corner of the road with super quality goods but we shopped in ernest on the way in hoping to minimise contact withcrowds. We will be back- Dorset is still peaceful and this is a GEM of a hideaway- Thank you"
Ronnie – 25 May 2018

"We stayed at this lovely cottage for a long weekend, it is in a quiet beautiful location. We enjoyed watching the deer, pheasants and foxes visit the neighbouring fields daily while we ate breakfast. The cottage is immaculate with a well equipped kitchen."

"If you want quiet you get it, everything you need for a good s/c holiday. Very nice welcome pack, including homemade scones cream , and loaf and real butter. Ess accessories there, nice clean bedding. My only negative which has to go with the country side are the narrow lanes!. Would I go again, yes!."
Bernard – 24 Nov 2017
"Really enjoyed our stay at "Pigs House". Very quiet. Abundant wildlife. Really not far from anything. The town, or the seaside, when needed. A clean, warm, well maintained and comfortable hideaway in beautiful countryside.Definitely on our list of places to return to !"

Peter – 15 Sep 2017
"Best not to rely on your sat-nav to find the property, it probably won't. Better to follow the owners directions. The area is a spiders web of "C" class roads often only one car wide with high hedges and occasional passing places. Care must be taken when you negotiate these with the many blind bends, as you can suddenly meet other traffic. Factor in that rain adds a lot of mud to these roads. At the end of our fortnights holiday our car looked like we had been off-roading or on a rally it was so splattered in mud. Bear in mind also that there is no local shop, pub or restaurant within walking distance of the property so if you want to avail yourself of these amenities in the evening you will have to drive, and possibly return in the dark.Having found the property we were very impressed from the moment we arrived. It is bigger than the pictures suggest and has a warm feeling (even without the heating on) and it is very bright due to the number of big windows and French doors. The kitchen has a double oven, a state of the art hob, a big fridge freezer, a super dish washer and a washing machine. All were in excellent as new condition. Likewise all of the crockery and cookware were unmarked. The dining area and lounge had comfortable quality furniture and the TV again was like new. There was a spacious bathroom with an excellent shower and vanity washbasin with a light. The bedroom was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The owner very kindly left a gift of scones, cream. butter and jam. Plus there was milk, tea and coffee. So what was there not to like ? Overall an excellent property and one of the best we have stayed in."
valerie – 11 Aug 2017
"a well equipped and spotlessly clean holiday cottage ,situated in a very quiet location .many places of interest within an hours drive."
Mr/Mrs Clark – 28 Jul 2017
"Best holiday we have had in years. Cottage had everything you could ask for"
Mary – 14 Jul 2017
"Pigs House is absolutely amazing, bang in the middle of nowhere, just perfect for a hideaway cottage. The owner surprised us with a lovely welcome pack of warm scones, butter ,clotted cream, strawberry jam with a jug of fresh milk and a loaf of bread. The cottage is very spacious and modern with a terrific shower, and the view is of the rolling countryside. We had fox Cubs playing in the garden ,along with the cows and peasants. A wonderful 4day break."
A – 2 Jun 2017
"From the welcome pack, to the kitchen space, to the best shower,to the fantastic views -absolutely brilliant week away and would not hesitate to book again."
Eirian – 26 May 2017
"A lovely place to stay if you want peace and tranquility."
Kevin – 5 May 2017
"The Pig's House is a lovely cottage, very bright, spacious and comfortable with an excellent kitchen and super shower. The owners are very friendly and helpful.Unfortunately it can only be accessed down a very filthy farm track, leading to miles of twisty single track lanes, making any journey by car very slow and tortuous."
Gilbey – 21 Apr 2017
"Stayed for four nights at the S69719 and have to say that the cottage and location was really nice with added bonus of 'hello' each mourning to the farm cows. Well decorated with some nice touches. Great base to explore all the local attractions of Bridport, West Bay, Weymouth, Lyme Regis Poole and Bournemouth. However, my wife and I found the mattress on the bed cheap and very uncomfortable. We did report this to the owner and on our request she dropped a Duvet to lay over the mattress which improved the comfort very slightly. Also the Wi Fi at this property simply does not work! If these things were put right especially as you pay for them I would be giving a much higher mark"
Margaret – 7 Apr 2017
"As a place that is restful and facilities were outstanding."
Martin – 31 Mar 2017
"Only spoiled by a problem with the heating system !"
Rich – 20 Mar 2017
"A really relaxing weekend. Cottage was the best we have ever stayed in - modern and superbly equipped. A lovely, private garden with wonderful views of the Dorset countryside. So much to do within a short drive or don't go anywhere and enjoy the cottage! Would love to return."
Barry – 4 Mar 2017
"We really enjoyed our stay at the pigs house and will certainly be back, welcome pack excellent, and any queries dealt with immediately by the owner, cat bugler, very good, spacious accommodation"
Izzy – 3 Feb 2017
"Wonderful place to escape and relax. Prefect getaway!"
Angela – 26 Jan 2017
"Pigs house is a lovely characterful cottage beautifully finished with a stunning bathroom and lovely kitchen area, perfect for two people, on a really interesting farm, with lots of lovely villages and stunning coastal walks nearby."
STephen – 13 Jan 2017
"Myself, My Partner and our 1 year old daughter had a really good time away. It was a well needed break. The cottage had everything we needed and we would happily stay there again. It was in a nice quiet location but still not far from Bridport, and Exeter for nice days out."
Nigel
"Fantastic holiday in peaceful countryside location. House well fitted out to a very high standard with underfloor heating and shower to die for. Wood burner made the November evenings extremely cosy. Great welcome pack, with fresh clotted cream, jams and fresh home baked scones, thanks. The area was remote on country lanes, so required some travelling most days for activities and shopping. The house also suffered from rural broadband issues with BT working all around to rectify but wireless and smart TV very promising. Plenty of walking around and all up and down the Jurassic heritage coast."
Joe
"They have done a fantastic conversion, very cosy, great views and a tranquil setting. We will be booking this accommodation again even though it is a 6 hour drive away. No local amenities close by but everything available a short drive away... on narrow roads. Must visit Bridport Market on Saturdays as the town is buzzing."
Chris
"S69719 is very tastefully appointed and comfortable. We felt welcome and at home as soon as we arrived, especially appreciating the 'welcome pack' and a visit from the owner who called in to check that everything was in order. The cottage is on a working dairy farm, it is remote and amenities, such as pubs and shops are a drive away. As far as we are concerned these are positives rather than negatives. The location of S69719 is attractive, being surrounded by beautiful countryside and ideal for those who enjoy walking. The only sound of traffic comes from the occasional passing agricultural vehicle or over-flying helicopter At night there is perfect silence (other than the sounds of the natural world) and a sky free of light pollution."
