About this property

Looking for something different? Part of this cottage is actually an original carriage from the Great Western Railway built in 1903 and transported to the village in 1921, which has now been carefully fully renovated and extended in order to provide a unique holiday home experience. Set in a very picturesque location with a mature garden outlook, Railway Cottage is semi detached to the owners own home but is presented with privacy in mind and an eye for detail. The coastal village of Eype is highly sought after by ramblers and people who enjoy outdoor life and the beach is dog friendly year round. It has the benefit of a local pub, the New Inn serving a good choice of food and a good pint of ale as well as a seasonal shop during the summer months for basic provisions only. The market town of Bridport is only a mile and a half away. The walks on offer are some of the best available along the World Heritage coastline of Dorset and the tranquillity surrounding this special property is bound to leave you relaxed and recharged after your stay.

Accommodation:  Three steps up to original carriage door: Lounge/diner with wood burning stove, through to kitchen area. Door to bedroom with double bed and French patio doors to garden. Dressing area with door to bathroom with bath, rinse attachment, hand basin and toilet.

Services in addition to standard equipment:  Wifi. Radiator heating (via Owners boiler) plus night storage heating and wood burning stove. Fridge, DVD player, radio, travel cot, use of washing machine if required. iPod dock, flat screen tv, Good sized garden with seating. Off road parking for one car. Cot. Bed linen inclusive for the double bed. Smoking strictly outside only.  One well behaved dog is welcome, two may be possible by special arrangment.

This cottage is quaint and quirky and we enjoyed staying in it for a week. It was very clean and had everything that we wanted in it. Also got a few little treats that were very nice and enjoyable. In the village there was a very nice pub and a hotel which was within walking distance and they both served good food. Would like to return in a few years.

Railway cottage exceeded our expectation it was spectacular as were the surroundings and Rose-Marie was very welcoming. If you are looking for something extraordinary I would highly recommend Railway Cottage. I do not normally like to visit the same place twice but I would definitely revisit Railway Cottage, it now holds a very special place in my heart.
