Lovely Sherborne Cottage sleeping up to 4 guests

Offering family holiday accommodation, this converted barn enjoys beautiful surroundings with many places of interest nearby.
Located in the heart of the wonderful Blackmore vale countryside, Bridles Farm Holiday Cottages are two Grade II listed, single-storey converted barns (refs 29954 and 29955) situated on a working sheep and beef farm. Ideally placed in an aonb mid-way between Dorchester to the south, the historic county town of Dorset and Sherborne to the north, with its beautiful abbey and castles, these charming cottages each offer good family holiday accommodation for four. Both have their own decked area, equipped with barbecues and outdoor furniture and the farm’s garden also has a pond with adjacent patio which is an idyllic place to relax and enjoy a glass of wine whilst looking out over the fields, spring being a particularly lovely time to watch the lambs playing. There are several bridleways and footpaths on the doorstep and the village inn is only a short walk where you can wine and dine or sit out in the beer garden and enjoy the sunshine. Places of interest locally include the famous Cerne Abbas giant carved into the hillside, the Fleet Air Arm Museum with its fascinating array of aircraft at Yeovilton, the Haynes Motor Museum for those with an interest in classic cars and Monkey World in Wareham. Guests can explore Weymouth, a family friendly sandy beach and home of the 2012 Olympic sailing, Portland and on to West Bay, Bridport and Lyme Regis, taking in the spectacular famous World Heritage Jurassic Coast and Chesil Beach. Venture into Somerset to Clark’s Factory Village at Street, Glastonbury Tor, Longleat House and Safari Park and much more – there is much to enjoy. Shaftesbury and Salisbury are also well worth a trip. Shop 4 miles, pub and restaurant 275 yards.

    Helen – 12 Nov 2018
"A lovely cottage with everything you need for a great holiday. The owners have thought of everything and even supplied bread , milk, homemakers cake and jam. For us though the only disappointment was it being advertised as a working beef and sheep farm and there were no cows and only a handful of sheep."
    Bill – 8 Oct 2018
"The welcome was amazing---- before we opened our suitcases we were given a superb welcome pack including a home made Dorset apple cake , home made strawberry jam made by the lady host . The cttage was home from home every comfort you could imagine ."
    Kathryn – 24 Sep 2018
"We loved staying in Casterbridge!! The cottage was warm and cosy and had absolutely everything we could possibly need to make our time there a real treat. The 'welcome' gifts were generous and delicious and Paul and Chris themselves are genuinely welcoming and so helpful. The double bed we used was extremely comfortable and above all, everything was spotlessly clean!!We found the location was ideal for the places we wished to explore, both locally and further afield. Sherborne itself is a delight, with enough attractions to take up at least two days of our visit. We can thoroughly recommend this first class holiday accommodation!!"
    Joyce – 21 Sep 2018
"Beautiful accommodation, very high standard, very friendly and helpful owners.Would recommend and definitely like to book again."
    Lorraine – 6 Sep 2018
    "Lovely hosts/place/holiday!"
    Marie – 19 Aug 2018
"Chris and Paul, the owners of Bridles Farm were fabulous hosts. Their lovely cottage was a peaceful home away from home with everything you could possibly need, with wonderful personal touches including a fabulous home-made sponge cake and a lovely welcome basket of goodies which very thoughtfully included some gluten free items for our son.The farm itself is located in a lovely peaceful setting with a great pub just minutes away. Our son had a fantastic time and loved all of the animals. It truly was an amazing, wonderful experience from start to finish. We have plans to return very soon!"
    Linda – 19 Jul 2018
"We all loved everything about the cottage and location was good. The best we have stayed in by far.Very well presented, comfortable and spotless. The two lovely bedrooms have on-suites with excellent showers.Perfect for 4 adults. Everything we needed and more was there. The owners Chris and Paul were very welcoming, lovely friendly people. They provided a generous welcome pack and a delicious home baked cake. We were able to park right outside. The Hunters Moon pub is just along the road. We had some lovely meals there. We would definitely go back to and recommend Casterbridge."
    Jan – 9 Jul 2018
"Lovely comfortable cottage. Very well equipped with many extras,e.g. Tea coffee etc. A lovely homemade cake and milk butter in fridge. Thank you Chris & Paul."
    Jenny – 23 Jun 2018
"Once again the cottage was very well maintained, clean and Christine and Paul very welcoming. Very nice cake supplied, with other goodies. The road outside is busy so no walking from home - pub close by is good and on the light evenings OK to quickly walk there but not recommended when it is dark."
    Confirmed guest – 10 Jun 2018
"A lovely comfortable cottage in a great location. A very enjoyable stay. First class."

"Fantastic holiday thanks to our brilliant hosts Chris & Paul and their well appointed cottage which is finished to a very high standard. Our hosts could not have made our any better , certainly Home from Home .We cannot thank them enough ."
    C – 24 May 2018
"A wonderful place to stay and amazingly welcoming hosts - thank you for a memorable weekend."
    Carol – 28 Apr 2018
"A lovely cottage on a small working farm. The setting was beautiful. The only downside was the remoteness, it made visiting neighbouring tourist destinations less attractive. If you don’t want to do too much exploring then this cottage is perfect for groups of four or less. We were two couples and with two ensuite bedrooms our privacy was not compromised. Overall, the cottage was well stocked and excellent value."
    Neil – 8 Apr 2018
"When we arrived at the cottage we were welcomed by the very friendly owners who explained how every thing worked and where everything was. They had also provided a welcome pack and baked a caked for us which was great! The cottage was clean and well equipped and we had a very nice long Easter weekend travelling around Dorset."
