About this property

Dorchester 4 miles. Sunny Croft is a charming 1930s bungalow situated in the village of Broadmayne, near the county town of Dorchester in Dorset. Surrounded by the glorious Dorset countryside while boasting easy access to towns and amenities, this lovely property is ideal for exploring this beautiful area with the family. Enter the bungalow into the hallway; from here, you will find two well-presented bedrooms, the master king-size, and a twin ideal for a couple, friends, or families. Back out into the hallway and following down to the open-plan living space, you can enjoy the social hub of the home. For home-cooked meals, the well-stocked kitchen provides everything you need for a self-catering stay, with a dining table for four guests offering a space to gather over dinner and quality conversation. Finishing off the space, you can find the beautifully decorated sitting room. Off this space, another bedroom, a single, and a family bathroom, complete the interior, giving you flexible sleeping arrangements and a place to freshen up between action-packed days out. Outside, the garden is the place to be in the warmer months; soak in the hot tub, dine alfresco on the patio, have the chef of the group rustle up a barbecue meal, or simply enjoy the countryside views while your four-legged friends stretch their legs. When you’re ready to explore, there are plenty of countryside walks from the doorstep of Sunny Croft; pack a picnic and lace up your walking boots, ready to discover the picture-perfect countryside. Head into the county town of Dorchester, home to the National Trust’s Max Gate, the Dorchester Museum, and a wide range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. Make your way to the coast one day with a trip to Weymouth; the popular town boasts the ideal day out for families, with the SEA LIFE centre, Sandworld, and a delightful beach from which to enjoy your seaside fish and chips. The Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site and Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty also offer plenty to explore on your holiday, so you won’t be left short for beautiful sights to see. Sunny Croft is a lovely choice for anyone looking to explore the Dorset countryside and Jurassic Coast.

A trip to the county of Dorset would not be complete without visiting the market town of Dorchester, with its Roman roads, museums and a number of pubs and restaurants. Enjoy a picturesque walk around Maiden Castle or visit the County Museum which has a room devoted to Thomas Hardy, born just two miles away in Bockhampton. Just seven miles away are the glorious beaches and picturesque harbour of Weymouth, and the rugged peninsula of Portland.

It was so peaceful with beautiful views from the garden and a really pretty sight of thatched cottages at the front. The owner left a lovely welcome basket and milk, tea and coffee for our arrival. The big Christmas Tree covered in twinkly lights was such a delightful surprise. We really do look forward to returning and suggest that if anyone is considering this property .... book it now. Its fab!

Excellent location. Would stay again. Just a couple of niggles, a couple of bedside lamps in the main bedroom would be useful and we found the front door very difficult to open from the outside most of the time. Waste collection times would be useful.

Plenty of space for a family of four (with dog) and in a great location for visiting all the local attractions. Broadmayne is a lovely town, nice local pub, rural setting and everyone is very friendly. Would definitely recommend.
