This lovely, family-friendly cottage is one of two holiday cottages that rest on a working farm in the charming village of Whitchurch Canonicorum, close to popular coastal towns of Charmouth, Lyme Regis and West Bay. A super choice for an extended family holiday, or an opportunity to share time with friends. The interior is characterful and quirky with exposed timber trusses and a vaulted ceiling in the spacious sitting room, the hub of the property. A redbrick chimney separates the kitchen from the sitting room with a woodburning stove inset for cosy evenings in. To the side, a conservatory acts as the dining room with seating up to 10 and doors lead out to the patio and rear garden. Four bedrooms lead off from the sitting room to include a large family room with a double bed and three single beds, perfect for a large family. There is a further a double with en-suite shower room, a twin and a double room, with a family bathroom and separate shower room. To the rear, a large, enclosed lawn garden is perfect for children to play freely and for adults to relax whilst enjoying the views of rolling Dorset countryside. A graveled seating area provides an opportunity for outside dining and summer barbecues, and an undercover hot tub is the perfect place for a relaxing moment to unwind. The cottage has use of a shared games barn opposite, kitted out with pool, skittles and table tennis. The South West Coast Path stretches for miles around Lyme Bay, and along Chesil Beach. Lyme Regis is to the west, with it’s ancient Cobb harbour and West Bay to the east which has been made popular through the TV show Broadchurch. Within three miles Charmouth boasts a dog-friendly, sandy beach and is famous for its fossil hunting and Heritage Coast Centre. The village pub has homemade food and is just a 10-minute walk, ideal for sitting out with a local beer. Further afield Bridport streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns, only adding to your holiday experience. Whitchurch Canonicorum is a mix of farms and cottages. In the village you can find the very ancient church of St. Candida and the Holy Cross. The market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops.
