Janette – 12 Oct 2018
"Had a great holiday we just love Keswick, cottage was really nice bit oldie look which was ok have been to a lot of property’s and would use again"
Patricia – 5 Oct 2018
"Great holiday. Great location. Parking tricky especially peak periods, probably due to excessive cost of Keswick public car parks: can't blame property for this and didn't bother us. Ideal property for family, possibly bit tight downstairs for 6 adults. We were only two so very spacious for us. Very well equipped but slightly worn in parts, suggest new bedlinen. Lovely old traditional Lakeland house. Warm and cosy. Need to ensure vacuum available."
Claire – 17 Aug 2018
"Nice and central, but this property is very tired and needs a proper clean and review of equipment. House is very dusy with lots of hairs and fluff. Washing machine and dishwasher on last legs."
John – 27 Jul 2018
"Located in the heart of Keswick, this property was idealy situated. The bedrooms were large and the beds comfortable. However the living room did not provide adequate seating to comfortably accommodate 6 people."
John – 20 Jul 2018
"We had a lovely week at S49834. It is very central in Keswick, in a quiet location, yet also easy to get out of Keswick. We walked from S49834 to Springs Farm, up Walla Crag, down to Ashness Bridge and round Derwentwater and back to S49834 in an afternoon. We also walked to and from Portinscale, Nicol End and Lingholm Garden. So for walkers, thoroughly recommended. We really liked the top bedroom on the 2nd floor, as it has a commanding view of Blencathra, while our guests used the en suite bedroom. The one downside of S49834 is that it doesn't have a garden, but that comes with being so centrally situated in Keswick itself."

"I felt S49834 would suit most parties visiting this area. It is very comfortable, ideally situated and very well decorated."
AT – 29 Jun 2018
"Good location within walking distance to town and lakes. Parking tricky but not as bad as initially thought. The farthest we had to park was the next street along. House well equipped but could do with some recycling bins and a good deep clean in some areas.Stayed during a very hot week and found upstairs too warm; particularly for a baby and would have benefitted from a fan. Downstairs stayed cool though. Netflix was a nice touch. Fan in the shower room goes on for a while so would avoid using it at night if you're a light sleeper. Also whilst there are blinds and decorative curtains, the rooms let in a lot of light so pack an eye mask. Notes to ownersBedding in the main room is very bobblely and could do withreplacing.Light was out above the shower.Cheap toilet paper is a false economy...and we ran out as no spares rolls were left!"
Teresa – 1 Jun 2018
"Very pleased with the accommodation, the facilities were very good. Internet and Netflix were a bonus! The only down side was the parking we did struggle to park the car, the property would benefit from a designated space."
James – 1 May 2018
"We can simply say that we felt very much at home in S49834. We ate in every night and were never short of cutlery, utensils and pots and pans. Not having a car, we relied entirely on the bus service which was always on time, and only a 7-8 minute walk to the main bus depot and Booths supermarket where we got all our provisions. The beds and sofas were extremely comfortable, and being able to switch the heating on and off as desired added to the comfort. It was also nice to see the owner had included some extra items such as torches, hot water bottles and an umbrella. S49834 would certainly be the first house I looked at on line if I was to return to Keswick."
Nicola – 29 Mar 2018
"With all the single glazed windows it was pretty chilly downstairs even with the heating on."
Phil – 5 Mar 2018
"A lovely cottage in a great location."
Simon – 19 Feb 2018
"Cottage in great location. It is a bit dated and the kitchen utensils were not all clean - grease in trays in the oven."
Andy – 4 Jan 2018
"Good comfortable cottage and great location. All the fixtures and fittings were up to date and it all had a fresh feel to it. Would recommend it."
Reg – 8 Sep 2017
"Generally quite good, but the property has some very annoying features which I would never tolerate at home. 1) Kitchen light switch in a ridiculous place. 2) Extractor fans in bathrooms linked to the light switch, so come on unnecessarily, wasting electricity. Especially annoying in the en suite where it continues to run for 20 minutes preventing sleep. 3) Even worse power wastage caused by central heating thermostat situated upstairs where it is naturally colder, so the rest of the house overheats. Can only achieve a comfortable temperature by trial and error; the temperatures on the thermostat are meaningless. It would be better situated in the living room. 4) Wash basin in en suite far too small. 5) Only three teaspoons!"
Jaclyn – 1 Sep 2017
"A lovely well presented house in an ideal location with all equipment would need. Booking states to bring towels but when we arrived, towels were actually provided (whilst a pleasant surprise, made it pointless dragging our towels all the way with us) some more attention to detail when cleaning would make this a 10/10"
Evelyn – 21 Jul 2017
"Lovely interior. Beds very comfy and great central situation."
Bryan – 14 Jul 2017
"Excellent base to explore the Lake District."
Fraser – 7 Jul 2017
"Great cottage and very central. New sofa has improved the lounge area since our last visit. Look forward to returning again in the future."
Alima – 5 May 2017
"We recently stayed at S49834 with 4 friends. The property is very centrally located with lots of shops, restaurants and pubs only a few minutes walk. Many of the fell walks can be done from the doorstep, Cat Bells, High Spy and Latrigg to name a few. It is tastefully furnished and we found it very clean and comfortable. It is actually our second visit having visited some 6 or 7 years ago."
Patricia – 31 Mar 2017
"Lovely cottage with every facility."
Judith – 27 Mar 2017
"Nice cottage in great location. Both bathroom and ensuite in need of updating to make this a very comfortable holiday home."
Sheila
"Great stay . Will return"
Katherine
"Great location, warm and well equipped house with comfortable beds. The house is supposedly for 6 people but the living areas would be rather small for that number. We were just a couple and it was fine for us. Sadly the sofas were definitely worn out and totally let down the house, covering tatty old sofas with several throws doesn't work! Please replace with something better and we would happily return."
Simon
"We had a great week in Keswick and were extremely lucky to have a full week of October sunshine! S49834 is in a great location. The cottage was perfectly clean and had everything we needed. We had no problems with the heating, as mentioned in someone's previous review, but I must say that the sofas desperately need updating. We became quite fed-up with having to use throws to stop all the brown flakes of leather covering our clothes. It was a real shame as, other than that, the cottage was almost perfect. I would definitely love to stay at S49834 again.... but not until the sofas have been replaced!"
Susan
"Good location and a well equipped cottage but it really needs a new sofa as the leather has brown bits coming off and the covers on it keep slipping off."
Anna
"Lovely central location cottage. There was a strange smell in cupboard downstairs where fridge was kept."
Hayley
"We all had a fantastic time at S49834, the weather was lovely all week which really made it ! The accommodation was in a perfect location and provided anything we needed. The only thing which I could mention was the sofa was a little tired looking , could do with a re vamp . Apart from that , fab place to stay ."
Karen
"Lovely cottage, spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Short walk to the shops and lake. Plenty of room for six, nice to have two bathrooms and toilets. Comfy kingside beds and bunks suitable for kids although my teenage daughters slept in them and said it was fine. Only downside, my elderly father said it was cold on an evening and we couldn't find anywhere to work heating. (Instructions could be included )"
Lynne
"Very attractive cottage, equipped to a very high standard. Extremely comfortable, except the 'leather' settee sheds little brown specks!"
Martin
"It was an excellent place to stay - well located from the lake, town and walking. The cottage is well equipped. The over-the-bath shower was too powerful and soaked the bathroom. You couldn't use it at the same time as someone showering in the ensuite as there was not enough hot water for both. The living area isn't massive but that didn't matter to us as we weren't spending loads of time in the cottage. Overall it's a great place and we would stay again."
Fraidan
"Excellent cottage and very central to town. Comfortable and clean with good beds and showers. No rear garden unfortunately so nowhere to sit outside, but this wouldn't put us off staying again. House could do with double glazing, otherwise first class."
Hicks
"A brilliant stay, thank you. A lovely house in a great spot, quiet but 5 mins walk to town centre. House decorated to a very high standard and well equiped. Things that would have been good additions are the supply of some towels, new kitchen knives and some kitchen cooking basics like cooking oil, etc. We would definately rebook the house."
