    A semi-detached barn conversion set in a rural location between Keswick and Penrith with impressive views of S44593.
    S44593 is a tastefully converted Grade II listed barn situated on Blakebeck Farm just two miles from the unspoilt Lakeland village of Mungrisdale. The barn has an upside down layout with a large open plan living area on the first floor. Lovely views of the local fells and S44593 surround the barn and the owner’s sheep and lambs graze in the meadows around the cottages, along with alpacas and donkeys. Local walks from the doorstep are plentiful. Cyclists will enjoy the quiet country lanes and golfers will find Keswick Golf Course one and a half miles away. The popular bustling market town of Keswick with an abundance of interesting shops, eateries and a good leisure centre is seven and a half miles away. Stretch your legs along the edge of Derwentwater or through the Borrowdale Valley and pick up the Keswick Launch to cruise back again. Towards the south, Ullswater and Thirlmere are a short drive away and both offer spectacular scenery, challenging walks and plentiful activities. Shop, pub and restaurant 2 miles.

    "This is a very attractive cottage, suitable for a small family. It is well equipped with most things that you will need for your holiday. It is in remote, but with excellent scenery. The owners were helpful and very friendly"

    "Wow! I can honestly say this is the best place we have stayed in ever! We received a gorgeous welcome pack of scones & jam with fresh flowers dotted around our cottage and even our dog got his own bed, bowl. towels & biscuit upon our arrival. We stayed at "S44593" - a two-bedroomed Grade II listed barn/cottage that feels like home with gorgeous furniture, furnishings and everything we needed was available. The cottage has that "5 star" touch and even has the extra toilet under the stairs as well as a small family bathroom. The upside down style of this place gave us views of S44593 and the fells in the open lounge/kitchen that took our breath away and it was a joy to start up the fire very low every now and then just to feel that extra cosy with a couple of lamps on - although it did get hot and I had to open all the windows and turn the fire off! We were able to walk around the farm and explore and visit the animals: sheep, 2 donkeys, several alpaca and the owners' 4 dogs and one particular day we had the privilege of watching one of the working dogs "Moss" round up all the sheep to place in the next field. Our 10 yr old son Jack was desperate to play in the games room and found a new good friend who was staying next door at "The Garth". Every day we did something different and this cottage is the perfect base for you to visit every part of the county whether it be walking, sailing, canoeing, rock-climbing, visiting places of history and going to all the National Trust venues. Keswick is about 8 miles away which is a lovely town to visit and do all your weekly shopping but since I was glad to get away somewhere totally rural, we sorted out our food shopping early on Saturday morning in this town and spent the rest of our week slowing down and unwinding to the point that on our last day we were genuinely sorry to leave. Many thanks to Judith and Mike who both went out of their way to ensure our holiday was special and left a lot of very good memories. Would I recommend this beautiful place to everyone? I would recommend this cottage to all those who respect our countryside, our hard-working farmers, the local community and Judith & Mike - they all deserve it...."

    "If you want to get away from it all then this is the perfect place!Lovely cottage very well equipped with beautiful views. Fabulous hosts, very accomodating , and a lovely farm , my daughter fell in love with the donkeys dogs and baby alpaca. We were also able to leave our dog in the sheepdogs kennels, so we could do some activities which was brilliant. Highly recommended and I will definately go back."

    "A really well laid out property, comfortable and extremely clean. Had a second toilet that we weren't expecting which was a nice surprise! Easy access from Keswick via car, easy drive and parking. Property contained all cooking equipment you could ever think of! Games room fun! Owners lovely and welcoming, even brought the alpacas round for us to see on the last day! Would definitely recommend to a friend and stay again if in the area!"

    "This is a lovely cottage in a stunning location, set just beneath Souther Fell. The cottage is organised with lounge and kitchen upstairs and the bedrooms and bathroom downstairs, this gives great views from the lounge which is open plan. We found the property very well equipped and comfortably furnished, it was nice to be welcomed with scores and homemade jam.The hosts are very friendly and welcoming and very helpful.Would have no hesitation in recommending this property."

    "Beautiful upside down cottage. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Stunning location and situated in easy reach of all the northern lakes.Just two things don't make it perfect for me. One it's attached to a much larger barn and noise could be heard through the main bedroom wall. Secondly the garden cannot be accessed without going through the front door and round the side of the cottage. This is a slight inconvenience for those who bring a dog.The owners are helpful and the farm delightful especially the resident donkeys.Property to be highly recommended."
