    This is a ground floor apartment, double glazed, heated by storage radiators with fell views and comprises:

    "Perfect for people under 6ft tall! The bedroom is small and the bed short; the shower is set low down too. The sofa is rather bizarre looking and not that comfortable. On the plus side, the kitchen is well equipped for two people and storage is good. It is clean and warm and the view from the sofa is amazing. It is a steep drive up and walk down to the main part of Ambleside but for us perfectly positioned as we were close enough to the town to enjoy it but not so close to be inconvenienced by the traffic and other tourists. Just ten minutes walk to the Ambleside Pier and water sports. Ambleside is an excellent base for exploring all of the Lakes. The Lake District is staggeringly beautiful."

    "The flat has a good location and an amazing view from the patio. It has everything you need but appears dated and cluttered. Some bits need mending, better organising and there’s no WiFi. Significant amount of sound from upstairs flat too but that may have just been them. I would stay again but not my first choice."

    "Cleanliness an issue. Could do with a good clean. Cobwebs around the windows. Vacuum cleaner stank when you used it. Could not find any bin bags or toilet rolls when we ran out. Only 1 small spoon. Flat smaller than it looked on the pictures. Not supplying towels is a negative, OK I was aware of that, but still a negative. And that steep, steep hill to the flat could have been described better on the website. Good bed. These days WiFi is a must. Still we enjoyed the lakes but would not book Badgers Rake again. My wife is convinced dog friendly means poorer accommodation."

    "Flat was small but clean and well equipped. Bed was very comfortable and it was lovely to have the patio and garden, particularly as the weather was warm and the flat was unbearably hot with the patio doors closed. The gorgeous views were a wonderful bonus."

    "Comfort and equipment rating would have been higher if a bigger pan was available. Pasta dishes are common nowadays and are quick to cook for a holiday meal. None of the pans available in the flat were big enough to cook pasta for two people in one go."

    "Very pleasant 4 night stay at Badgers Rake, nice location and well equipped apartment. Perfect for a short break in the Lakes. We were even lucky enough to see a deer in the garden, which I don't think was included in the price!"
