Enjoy bike riding at Grizedale and if you're feeling rather energetic, have a go on the high wire course at GoApe!

La'l Tethera is the perfect romantic retreat and the ideal base for your next adventure in this beautiful Lakeland village

Ambleside lies at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do in and around the area, from boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere to shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony along with “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District, now the National Trust Information Centre.

The lighting in the bedroom was very limited as there were bulbs missing or not working !

The kitchen was well provided, although some of the crockery and mugs were chipped or stained (they had not been washed up properly). The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. My problem with the flat was that it was not clean. The kitchen and bathroom seemed to be clean. In the lounge and bedroom surfaces I found dust, hair and dead flies. Cleaning spray and cloths were provided so I quickly cleaned the whole apartment - it only took me about 20 minutes, so why didn't the cleaners do this? Also, I couldn't find the garden area or laundry - maybe the owner could leave some information to locate these? Luckily I didn't really need them. Overall, I had a lovely few days in Ambleside using this apartment as a base. I do feel that it is expensive for what it is, compared to other local properties.

It's a lovely apartment and a great location. Just one point - we think it would be much better to have key collection and drop-off in Ambleside rather than in Windermere. We only found out about the arrangements after we'd decided and booked...
