What's not to love on a rainy cold night. Lidls & M&S at Oakham, should you want supplies and Rutland water is great for a mud-free walk with the dog. We drive to Leicester twice to visit some great restaurants, about 35 min drive away. Nice garden centre & tearooms about 2 miles away on Oakham Road worth a visit.

Our grandchildren really enjoyed the games room and the hot tub was great. We were surprised at how pretty Somerby is with good walks and the local pub which is a gem. The food was beautiful and we were made so welcome. We all had a fantastic time.

The cottage was in a quiet area and close to all amenities and sites to visit. The local pub The Stilton Cheese was lovely with superb food and a warm welcome as well as a real log fire burning away. Rutland water was close by and is a place to visit too.
