About this property

Approached via quiet country roads, with close proximity to the historic ruins of Barlings Abbey, is this single-storey stable conversion resting below Abbey Cottage. Nestled in a small hamlet, yet within easy reach of the city of Lincoln, make yourselves comfortable in this stylish accommodation for three. It is ideally suited to a couple or small family wanting to escape to the country, with many footpaths and bridleways straight from the doorstep. You are welcomed inside by a contemporary open-plan living room, tied together with bright and fresh colour schemes. Relax on the plush brown corner sofa and watch a film with your loved ones after an adventure on the Viking Way or read your favourite book as the aroma of a freshly cook meal drifts from the kitchen. Dine over a bottle of wine, chat about events from the day, and utilise the sleek worktops for preparing a picnic to take on a hike. There are two lovely bedrooms to complete the cottage, along with a separate cloakroom. The double is fresh and clean with a dressing table, mirror and views of green fields, where cows occasionally come to graze. There is an adjoining bathroom offering a spacious feel and next door, the single room offers the same pleasant aspect towards the back fields. You are invited to wander the grounds of Ferry House Farm and even bring your horses to the stables if you wish, and ride in one of four fields belonging to the owner. Make the most of this wonderful location, right in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds, surrounded by cycle paths, with the Viking Way passing through the drive of the main farmhouse. Enjoy a refreshing drink at the pub after an invigorating walk and explore many more historic towns and villages in the area. Other attractions include Lincoln Castle and cathedral, the Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park and the Museum of Lincolnshire Life. This ground floor apartment is the ideal bolthole for a holiday you won't forget. This property can be booked with Abbey Cottage 969184 to sleep 5.

The city of Lincoln offers numerous places to visit, making it an ideal holiday destination. Its impressive hill-top medieval cathedral not only boasts striking architecture but was also a film location for both The Da Vinci Code and coronation scenes in Young Victoria. Walk the walls of Lincoln Castle and climb the tower, taking in views over the city. In the summer months, enjoy the open-air theatre, pop and rock concerts and re-enactment weekends in the castle grounds. The castle also houses Lincoln’s Magna Carta. Lincoln has great shopping with quaint and quirky independent shops in the cathedral quarter, including the famous Christmas Market in early December. The area offers several aviation attractions from World War II museums to present day airfields. Nearby Scampton is home to the Red Arrows and the Dambusters Inn and Heritage Centre, while RAF Waddington offers an annual air show. Other local attractions include Doddington Hall, Whisby Nature Park, Hartsholme Country Park, Lincolnshire's transport museum and Woodside Wildlife and Falconry Park, making Lincoln an excellent destination for all the family.

Property very clean, warm and comfortable. The owners were friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed our stay but were grateful that the flat above wasn’t occupied while we were there. Reading the guest book comments - it’s obviously not very well sound proofed. Might be worth checking before you book if you think it may bother you.

It was a lovely cottage it was very clean and the beds were very comfortable it was just the road to get to it but we were very lucky only met car twice and a bit far from shop but after saying that we are older if we were younger we would not have minded but would definitely recommend it
