About this property

Quince Cottage is a beautifully restored Grade II listed cottage in the historic estate village of Gunthorpe, with its peaceful setting it is the ultimate place to escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. The accommodation is finished to a high standard, with a wood burning stove and exposed beams in the sitting room and pamments tiles on the modern kitchen's floor. There are wooden stairs with rope bannister leading to a spacious bedroom with a 6' super king bed that can also be made into twin beds on request. A large wet room with shower is located on the ground floor. The cottage has a private and sunny garden to the rear with furniture and barbecue.

The village of Gunthorpe is situated in a shallow valley on the eastern side of the A148 King’s Lynn to Cromer road. At the centre of the village is a green where there is a convergence of five roads. In the north west of the village there is a parish church which is dedicated to Saint Mary. Close by is the old village school which was built in 1869, but now closed. It is a very historical village with many interesting buildings including Gunthorpe Hall, designed by Sir John Soane who was the architect of The Bank of England building in Threadneedle Street. From Gunthorpe it is a ten minute drive to the Georgian market town of Holt and a fifteen minute drive to the North Norfolk coast.
