An Idyllic, Romantic Retreat just for two
Surrounded by beautiful rolling valleys, Horseshoe Cottage is a very peaceful, romantic cottage just for two near Bamburgh on the coast and near Wooler, the heart of the Cheviot Valley.
Awarded 5 stars by Visit England, the cottage is beautifully furnished and equipped. Framed with the original wood beams to add warmth and character to every room, the cottage is light, airy, and incredibly cosy.
Horseshoe Cottage is set within the grounds of the old Holburn Corn Mill and steeped in history. During the spring you’ll be surrounded by daffodils and new-born lambs, and in the autumn you’ll regularly spot the wild pheasants and hares leaping around the fields, whilst the bubbling Hetton Burn flows under the wooden bridge opposite. The country village of Belford is 6 miles east where you’ll find plenty of local and essential shops. Bamburgh Beach is 12 miles away, as is the rest of the coastline.

Another wonderful visit (our 5th). We love everything about the cottage and the surroundings and Christine & Alan are the very best of hosts. We’ve enjoyed repeat visits to The Potted Lobster, Lord Crewe & The Black Bull in Lowick. A week here is never enough-we can’t wait to come back again.
