Bolton le sands is a good place to stay and Kiln cottage was nice, comfortable IT was very light upstairs and nice views of canal, downstairs was darker but cool in this summer. lots of steps about the house, quirky layout.the house had a foot path past the front door but it wasnt very busy.parking was slightly tricky , a large car would have issues as there is a narrow gate and tight corner.Whilst allowing a dog, it was not suitable for a dog, no enclosed garden, the lawn was tiny and out of the way and the number of passersby would have driven our dog crazy, happily for various reasons we left her behind.Lots to do if you like the out doors and sizergh castle was an interesting visit, we saw ospreys on 4 days and another 40 odd specis of birds, including a peregrine falcon take a small gull for lunch.Lots of good places to eat nearby as well. we would return

We enjoyed our stay in Bolton le sands. Lots of lovely places to visit in the area. We enjoyed Heysham village and Kendal, and we liked the Brief Encounter exhibition at Carnforth railway station.
