This pretty village location is ideal for a small family or couples to feel right at home and explore the countryside surroundings and beyond. Youlgreave is an ancient village between the valleys of Lathkill Dale and Bradford Dale in the Peak District. It was once the centre of the lead mining industry but is now a tourist destination. The village has three public houses, two shops, a post office and a medieval church with some parts dating back to the 13th and 14th Centuries. The market town of Bakewell is nearby and has a wide selection of shops and eateries along with its Monday market.

Very poor to non existent starter pack. Outlook from rear of property spoilt by overgrown foliage and dumped items. Information re rubbish collection out of date. Small water leak in downstairs cloakroom.

Parking outside or near the cottage was impossible. Although the lack of handrail on the stairs was mentioned it was more precarious than I had imagined. The cottage was very damp. Lots of damp stains on the walls. The only tv channel that was available was ITV1 although free view was advertised. The bathroom was very modern with a spacious shower and large bath. The kitchen was modern although some of the cupboards smelt of damp. The cottage was clean and tidy. The small patio area sadly has been neglected.

I really thought we had returned to our camping days when you had no choice but to take your own. The TV had VERY limited stations we could not access terrestrial TV even though this was advertised. When one of the party has mental health issues and must access his programme or meltdown ensues it proved an unpleasant but avoidable situation. Logs were provided but no firelighter could be found.
