Amazing, unique, quirky and delightful are just some of the words that came to mind when I first saw Yew Tree Barn. Standing proud in the shade of the magnificent Yew Tree this is an incredible 'quart into a pint pot' little cottage created to a very high standard out of a mellow stone barn. A comfortable little lounge, quality kitchen and shower room and the incredible mezzanine bed make this an amazing place.

In the upper reaches of the Manifold Valley the barn stands in a jumble of cottages close to the brook as it splashes through the fantastic Peak District countryside. Walks go off in all directions through this beautiful landscape but pretty Longnor with its village shop, tea rooms, pubs, craft centre and even a fish and chip shop is only a mile away so you have the best of all worlds.

The best gets even better when you know that Leek with its splendid Victorian buildings, cobbled streets and mill shops is only a few miles away. So is historic Buxton with its famous Opera House, Pavilion Gardens, Cavendish Dome and lots of country town stores. The best of the best is incredibly simple - a glass of wine on the barn's patio gazing at the evening view down the valley.

Cottage facilities:

A attractive little lounge with comfortable sofa, dining table and chairs, flat screen T.V. DVD and views over the surrounding countryside. There is no T.V. reception at the barn but lots of DVDs are provided. A quality fitted kitchen with Belfast sink, hob, oven, fridge and similar views. A platform double bed, with crisp linen, above the lounge. A modern shower room with fluffy towels and W.C.

Linen and towels are provided. Heating and power are included. There is an attractive patio with furniture and fantastic views down the valley. Parking for one car is available and there are lots of other spaces along the quiet lane. A small pet is allowed by arrangement. Smoking is not permitted. Access for people with disabilities may be difficult due to the bed and the steep stairs.

Weekly bookings are normally Friday to Friday but short breaks are available throughout the year excluding Xmas & New Year.
