About this property

The Coach House is a beautiful, stone, Grade II listed cottage adjacent to the owner’s home, The Old Vicarage, which was built in 1842. Set in delightful gardens on the side of Titterstone Clee Hill and surrounded by glorious south Shropshire countryside and stunning views. The garden is a small garden within the owners garden. The cottage is situated on a quiet lane on the outskirts of Knowbury Village. Attractively presented throughout to provide comfortable and characterful accommodation, the cottage is ideal for friends and families looking for a peaceful rural retreat in this lovely part of Shropshire, close to the popular medieval town of Ludlow and the stunning Clee Hills. Set over two floors, enter through the quaint porch, with useful space for boots and coats, into the spacious accommodation with fully equipped kitchen to your right and sitting and dining areas to your left. The sitting room is full of character and boasts feature stone walls, exposed timbers and an inglenook fireplace with woodburner, perfect for relaxing round on a chilly evening. The dining area has French doors overlooking the owner’s walled garden, part of which is for guests use. Upstairs there is a bathroom and two delightful bedrooms with mellow stone walls and low beams. Outside to the front, there is a pretty cobbled courtyard garden, a perfect spot for a morning coffee whilst you plan your day’s activities or a relax under the apple tree in the walled garden for an evening drink after exploring the local area. If you love walking, the Shropshire way and several other footpaths with beautiful views are yards from the Coach House front door and the village pub is a short walk into the village of Knowbury. Further afield you are spoilt for choice with Brown Clee Hill, Mortimer Forest, the Long Mynd and The Stiperstones. Ludlow, with its 11th century castle, riverside walks, excellent tea rooms, shops, brewery, racecourse, weekly markets, restaurants and pubs is just four miles away and a visit to the Food Centre on the outskirts of this fascinating town is a must. The cottage is perfectly placed for exploring any number of pretty villages and market towns in this lovely part of Shropshire. Take a ride on the Severn Valley Railway from Bridgnorth or visit the Old Priory and wander the ancient streets of Much Wenlock. Alternatively, spend the day exploring the World Heritage Site of Ironbridge and its surrounding museums. A little further afield is the medieval county town of Shrewsbury with its lovely architecture and plethora of independent shops, cafes and riverside walks. With Church Stretton, Leominster and Hereford all within easy reach, historic homes and beautiful gardens to explore, this attractive cottage is the perfect destination for a relaxing break whatever the season. A lovely stone-built character cottage set in beautiful south Shropshire countryside, perfect for everyone to enjoy time together.

Knowbury is a small rural village situated in the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near to the Clee Hill, just 4 miles from the historic market town of Ludlow which is situated on the River Teme. The Coach House is spacious, well equipped and the hosts are extremely welcoming. Ideal for walkers (the Shropshire Trail is on the doorstep) and for those looking for a quiet, get away from it all type break it is seriously recommended.
