This conversion of a late 19th/early 20th-century cow byre and hayloft is situated in the Corvedale, between Wenlock Edge and the Clee Hills, on the edge of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It stands in the grounds of the owners’ 16th-century timber-framed cottage, on a private no-through lane, in the hamlet of Lower Corfton, where visitors are welcome to enjoy the attractive gardens and the many walks in the area accessible direct from the house. This is the ideal haven for guests wanting to get away from it all, but also for those who wish to be more active and explore the countryside a little further afield; the Stretton and Clee Hills, the Mortimer Forest and the Welsh and North Herefordshire borders.
There are many historic buildings in the area, including Ludlow, Stokesay, Croft and Powis castles, and the popular World Heritage Site at Ironbridge Gorge with its ten fascinating museums. Lower Corfton is 9 miles from the picturesque market town of Ludlow, with its many independently owned shops, pubs, and restaurants, and Craven Arms, 5 miles away, which has a supermarket and selection of take-aways if a quiet evening in is preferred. The property has off-road parking for two cars and there is a lawned area with garden furniture. Shop 1½ miles, pub ½ mile, restaurant 3 miles.
