I called to arrange collection of the keys and was told they had already got someone staying there. This is no fault on Sykes part. This was the owners not informing them that it had been let to someone else. I would not recommend this accommodation but would recommend Sykes.

No phone signal at all but good wi-fi. Could do with extra comfy seats in the lounge. There is only 2 x 2 seater sofas. Kitchen well equipped.

However this cottage requires attention, despite it’s very good standard of equipment. The central heating pipe work clicks extremely loudly when the heating kicks in - loud enough to wake me and my father (both very deep sleepers!), the fan oven appeared to not work, the WiFi coverage is very poor in the cottage (a very poor signal in the living room) and all of the beds were extremely creaky (the wooden ones certainly need replacing). As a result the quality of sleep was awful and I went home more tired than when I arrived! Also a lack of signage on the cottage was annoying at arrival. I had no idea which cottage was ours, so was only able to locate it through a process of elimination. It’s just not up to the standards we’ve got used to through Sykes!
