    Peacefully situated within the extensive grounds of the Pitchford Estate, these four properties offer superb holiday accommodation. The Generals’ Quarters (UKC2646) is named after a previous owners of the hall, General Sir Robert and Charles Grant. Guests will be situated in the West Wing, the oldest part of the hall constructed in 1549 (but with beams dating back to the 1250s), and the Hall’s Northern Range. The accommodation will be based on The Tudors and the late Georgian period. Guests will notice the two distinct periods as they move around the General’s Quarters, and will be able to decide which period rooms they wish to sleep in.
    Windy Mundy Farm (RNG) has been converted from an 18th-century threshing barn and deer shelter and is located on an old deer park at the centre of the estate. The bespoke oak dining table offers a dining arrangement for 16 guests. Built on top of a south-facing hill overlooking Row Brook, and part of a working arable farm, it is surrounded by fields of wheat and barley and has spectacular, far-reaching views towards the Shropshire hills. Enclosed by a long stone wall, the farm has its own courtyard garden with a terrace and barbecue.
    Stockbatch Granary (RJ6) is reached by a mile-long drive passing through the mixed arable land of Stockbatch Farm, with its fields of corn encircled by woodland. It comprises an 18th-century granary, clapperboard barn, stables and cowsheds, and nestles on a south-facing slope, at the bottom of which a stream wends its way gently along. A courtyard garden enclosed by a red sandstone wall provides a pleasant sitting-out area from which to survey the countryside views.
    Tree House Barn (rddj) is a sensitively restored detached barn conversion which enjoys views of the world famous Pitchford Tree House (the oldest tree house in the world).
    Within 6 miles of each property is historic Shrewsbury with its fascinating architecture, castle, museums, fine shops and wealth of traditional inns and restaurants. Easily accessible is popular Church Stretton, and Shropshire’s finest town Ludlow, framed by the gentle Clee Hills, with its impressive castle, magnificent church, many half-timbered buildings and Georgian red-brick houses. Bridgnorth has what is reputed to be the steepest cliff railway in Britain and superb cliff-top walks overlooking the River Severn below. From here, during summer, the Severn Valley Railway’s steam train chugs the scenic 16-mile route to Kidderminster. Attingham Park (National Trust), Benthall Hall (National Trust), Ironbridge Gorge and the old market town of Much Wenlock (with its medieval priory) are all within easy driving distance. Riding, sailing, fishing, golf, pubs and restaurants locally. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 5 miles.

    "Spent a week in October here with 10 family members. The road up to the granary needs pot holes filling in quickly as the lane up is nearly a mile long. The granary itself was amazing. Large clean well maintained warm house. Loads of equipment in cupboards to accommodate us all. Near by Shrewsbury and Ironbridge were really worth the visit."

    "The Granary is lovely with a well equipped kitchen, all bedrooms en-suite and surrounded by beautiful scenery. The farm track to the Granary is long and although made up with stone it is in need of a number of pot holes requiring filling. Although a wood burner stove is in the lounge we found the heating was warm enough so did not use it. There was a problem with the sound on the TV which, despite us reporting it to the agent, was not fixed during our week long stay."

    "The barns are absolutely fabulous. The beds and towels are very nice and clean. Very, very roomy. The games room is a great extra - perhaps a dart board would be a good addition. Out of the way up a dirt track for about a mile but the brochure does state no pub or shop for about 5 miles but with the games room and so much room you make your own fun. Very well stocked with glasses, mugs, plates etc. We took boules which would have been ideal but the weather wasn't good to us. I have spoken to the Manager and said a couple of niggles need addressing i.e. the shower in Room G does not work (I think the water pump isn't efficient enough and makes a terrible noise) and also the dishwasher needs a good clean (the filter needs cleaning and around the seals). Would I go again, definitely."
