The village is well supplied with 3 pubs, a post office, tea shop and grocery store. It is an ideal location for an outdoor break as the area is exceptional for walking, riding and the unspoilt countryside.
The village’s poetic history is well documented, being a former home of Samuel Taylor Coleridge where he wrote the famous Kubla Kahn and The Rime of The Ancient Marina. William Wordsworth also lived just three miles away.

Cosy and charming cottage, well prepared for us by the housekeeper. Sitting room comfy and kitchen, though small, well equipped. However the bed and bath a bit on the small side for us.

A lovely quirky place to stay in a quiet friendly village. Although small, so much thought was put into cramming as much as possible into the home without it appearing cramped. The only negatives would be that the windows need attention so that ventilation to the rooms can be obtained, also the parking is a nightmare as the locals concurred.
