"Superb cottage for a relaxing holiday."
    Robert – 1 Nov 2018
"The cottage was superb. So much so that we stayed in and enjoyed the fire and the comfortable surrounds as much a possible. Everywhere was scrupulously clean and the whole atmosphere was inviting and cosy.Despite being surrounded by fields and beautiful scenery we were disappointed that there was nowhere immediately handy to walk the dog although Kilve beach and the headland down there was perfect.Communication was efficient and prompt. The whole place was delightful if a little expensive compared to other properties available. The lack of a lawned area was surprising.Thank you for a really good 4 days."
    Tatyana – 27 Oct 2018
"It felt like second home. Well equipped and furnished. Great location and very friendly neighbours. My only one and very minor criticism is that it wasn’t clear from description that there is no garden as such: there is an outside sitting area but not a garden so it means that if you have dogs or children you have to go physically out of the house onto the road. But that really is a very minor factor. Loved the books and dvd collection and very nice touch with the welcome pack. Thank you"
    Dennis – 10 Sep 2018
"An excellent property that we would certainly be happy to use again and to recommend to anyone else wanting to stay in that particular area"
    Julie – 10 Sep 2018
"Lovely cottage with views over farmlands to the Bristol Channel and South Wales. Good base to explore Somerset and tackle a range of very nice walks. The owners were very accommodating. The welcome pack was very generous. The kitchen was very well equipped, the artwork was very nice, and there were dozens of books and DVDs."
    Amy – 4 Aug 2018
"Absolutely loved this accommodation! So welcoming and comfortable, a home away from home. Everything you need, well-equipped, spotless, everything in great condition. Fantastic views from the balcony. Very peaceful and beautiful surroundings. Would definitely recommend!"
    Jennie – 14 Jul 2018
"We loved our week at Hilltop Barn! Very homely- clean and imaculate. Beautiful views of the sea and tranquil location. We couldnt have asked for any more!"
    Josephine – 24 Jun 2018
"Ourselves Freddie and Lola loved our week at Hilltop they just missed their garden although the patio area is lovely not very dog safe no gate but they loved sitting on the balcony enjoying the fabulous view. Only one negative the plant pots claiming territory of car park a pain getting in and out of the car sure a line would be enough . Having said perhaps my back pain made it a problem !!"
    Tony – 21 May 2018
"We really couldn't fault Hilltop and would certainly go again. It is a wonderful coastline with Wales in view from the lounge and Kilve beach is most interesting with lots of fossil evidence. Hard to walk on though - so if you want sand, head for Dunster and Minehead."
    Robert – 14 Apr 2018
"My family and I stayed for 4 nights this week and had a really excellent time.Hilltop Barn offers extremely high quality facilities in very comfortable surroundings. We particularly liked the fact that the kitchen and living room are upstairs which afford fabulous views out across the surrounding countryside. After booking I was initially concerned about how close the road is to the front of the property, but after staying there that concern is completely groundless. It was a lovely, peaceful road which only experienced the occasional car and several horses and riders.Helen (the owner) has really thought of everything you could need or want in a stay of this type from books, DVD's, board games and freesat TV through to plenty of maps and even a spare dog lead.We have rented holiday homes all over the world and Hilltop Barn comes with one of the best equipped kitchens with plenty of pots, pans, glasses, crockery and cutlery. There were also a set of decent and sharp kitchen knives.Microwave, washing machine, dishwasher, coffee machine....the list goes on!While the weather was a bit hit and miss during our stay we found Hilltop Barn to be an excellent base from which to visit a number of locations. Cycling on the beach in Woolacombe was a particular highlight, as was our journey on the Somerset Steam Railway which we caught from Minehead. Kilve Beach is also well worth a look if you are interested in fossil hunting.Overall a very relaxing and enjoyable stay in terrific surroundings and we were sad to leave though we'd have no hesitation returning or recommending this lovely property."

    "Comfortable, well equipped, beautiful surroundings."
    Jules – 5 Mar 2018
"Excellent accommodation with high quality furniture and fittings including really good quality towels. It had everything you could possibly need. There was a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. Upside down house with bedrooms on ground floor but that meant good views from living area. Nit picking but master bedroom was a bit cold but nothing too bad. Has a nice outside garden but too cold at the time we went to use it. Would be a bit of a walk to Kilve for some but we did walk it. Just a few days there but weather was great and some good walking. Highly recommend."
    Stephen – 11 Feb 2018
"The directions could have been better. They state that the property is "just on the left after entering Hilltop lane". It is over 3/10ths of a mile and the directions could be more accurate. The property was very clean. Appreciated the "treats" supplied by owner. Enjoyed staying here."
    Karen – 18 Jan 2018
"We stayed for 4 nights recently and thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, in fact it was great spending evenings in cooking and spending the time by the wood burning stove (which was very efficient) and watching DVDs. The bed was extremely comfortable and the kitchen very well equipped. A lovely added bonus was the welcoming pack that was provided 😄The local walk down to the Quantocks beach was a stones throw away and we were rewarded with distant views of Wales. Sadly the weather was so thick with fog we didn't manage the walk on the Quantocks Hills! A good excuse to return another day. Would definitely stay at Hilltop Barn again 😄"
