Single holiday let sleeping up to 6 guests in total
Waterfall cottage is recommended by Alastair Sawday's Special places to stay. The house was built in 1840 as the Millhouse and was extended in the 1950s. The garden was planted 50 years ago by a Chelsea Gold Medalist, my aunt whose home this was. Waterfall Cottage stands in two acres on a quiet country lane. We have 2 double bedrooms and two singles and a cot. There is an Aga, a woodburner and gas central heating all the requirements for a comfortable home. We willingly take children and dogs. There is wi fi too.
We have been open for over 12 years with lots of repeat bookings. The gardens (from which my aunt became a Chelsea Gold-Medal winner) are regularly praised by visitors and we have direct private access on to the Forest from our paddock. It is a wonderland of fun and adventure for children, walkers, cyclists and dogs with open heathland, forest, streams and all the beauty and peace of a quite tranquil spot. There is also a lot to do within half-an-hour, on the coast, or in Winchester, Salisbury, Southampton, Bournemouth and so on.
The cottage is about an hour and a half from London and many of our guests come from there.
A quote from one guest :- "Once again a relaxing and uplifting experience – each time we come we intend to visit places in the area but the Waterfall Cottage effect makes us just want to sit in the garden."
Our changeover day is usually Friday with arrivals from 4.00pm. We do weekend and short week breaks.
