About this property

Complimentary Welcome Hamper

A complimentary welcome hamper will be awaiting you on your arrival containing milk, tea, fresh coffee, bread, butter, eggs, juice, wine and cheese, along with other essential items to prepare a light snack or breakfast. There may be some regional variations.

Farningham Coach House is a stunning former coach house that retains many of its original features including hay racks, mangers, exposed beams and brickwork and an original Georgian staircase. The property has won awards including the 2014 riba (Royal Institute of British Architects) South East Regional award and been praised for its ingenious, contemporary design which has remained sensitive to the historic nature of the buildings. The property offers a double bedroom and a single room, reached by a glazed walkway which overlooks on to a courtyard garden. There is a second outside seating area with gravel garden and pizza oven. The spacious open plan kitchen/sitting area occupies the first floor, providing a perfect space to cook dinner and relax in the evenings.

In the centre of the village sits Farningham Mill, a fine Georgian water mill recently converted to small apartments which overlook the trout stream and retain many of the original working parts of the corn mill. Several pubs are in walking distance of the property including The Pied Bull, an excellent village pub just across the road. Farningham lies on the edge of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The area is perfect for walking and the Darent Valley Path (which begins on the banks of the River Thames) passes through and on to Lullingstone, where the country park surrounds Lullingstone Castle and the World Garden. Adding to the beautiful rural scenery are the chalky slopes of the Darent Valley which are home to thriving vineyards and acres of lavender fields.

Très belle maison, chaleureuse et accueillante. Nous y avons passé 2 semaines, "grâce au" mauvais temps nous avons pu en profiter pleinement.

What can I say about the Coach house apart from "WOW". I booked this accommodation for my wedding, we stayed the night before the big day and upon arrival we were greeted with a hamper full of goodies, a bottle of fizz and a card to wish us well! The coach house is stunning, its been done to an extremely high standard that has kept all the character and charm, The owners are lovely and very accommodating, nothing is too much trouble. I cannot rate this place highly enough, we wish we could move in permanently!
