,Ref: holiday 9th March to 16th MarchI wanted to share some positive feedback about our recent stay in Lodge No. 5 at Bossiney Bay Holiday Park.We really enjoyed the lodge overall. The flame‑effect fire was lovely as a decorative feature, although it didn’t function as a heater. Fortunately, the central heating kept us warm and comfortable — occasionally a little too warm.The kitchen was adequately equipped, clean and functional. I did notice that the oven grill pans were lined with tinfoil. After checking the operating manual online (as the Wi-Fi was intermittent throughout our stay), I saw that using tinfoil in a fan assisted oven is listed as a fire hazard, so I thought it was worth mentioning.As someone who cooks from scratch, there were a few kitchen items that would have been useful additions: a vegetable brush, non‑plastic chopping boards, a non-plastic measuring jug, a salad spinner, a set of kitchen scales, a lemon juicer, and a few extra pieces of cutlery. The sharp knives were also a little difficult to use. On a positive note, I appreciated having both stainless steel and wooden spoons available as well as stainless steel saucepans with lids.We had a mix of rain, hail, and strong winds during our stay, and we did notice some draughts around the windows and doors, which I imagine is to be expected in that weather. There was also a noticeable dog smell in the carpet, and while doing some exercises I found a Cheerio and a few dead flies under the sofa. I’ve attached a photo for reference.A couple of small maintenance issues: the twin bedroom door handle latch was sticking, and the shower door was quite difficult to open and close. We also experienced an RCD trip when one of the spotlights blew. We reported it on site, but when no one arrived we managed to replace the bulb ourselves.We all really enjoyed the hot tub — definitely a highlight. Given the weather, a few board games or puzzles in the lodge would have been a lovely addition to the experience.Kind regardsPeter and Family.
