Stunning Alcester Cottage sleeping up to 7 guests

These holiday cottages (refs W43699 and W43700) are situated in the middle of the pretty village of Exhall. Parts of the farmhouse date back to Tudor times and for centuries it’s been the home of the local clergyman who both cultivated the land and preached in the tiny church next door. William Shakespeare is alleged to have referred in a poem to ’Dodging Exhall’ and the tag has remained ever since. If you wish to dodge the hustle and bustle of the 21st century, you could do no better than stay in this delightful place, for although peace and quiet is in plenty, a 10 minute drive will take you to Stratford-upon-Avon, 40 minutes to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, or Broadway in the beautiful Cotswolds Hills. All this, plus plenty of local country pubs serving good food and the many historic houses and castles that abound in the area, make this an ideal holiday location for exploring the Heart of England. Shops and restaurant 2 miles, pub ½ mile.

Ground floor: Living/dining room. Kitchen. Step to... 1 double (5ft) bedroom. Shower room with toilet. First floor: 3 bedrooms: 1 double (5ft) with en-suite shower room and toilet, 1 twin, 1 single. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.

Electric woodburner in living room included. Electric heaters, bed linen and towels included travel cot. High chair. Tumble dryer. Dishwasher. Fridge/freezer. Sitting-out area. Barbecue. Parking (3 cars).

Both properties: Electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. DVD. Electric cooker. Microwave. Washing machine. Garden furniture. Shared children’s play area and picnic tables. No smoking. NB: Fenced pond in grounds.

"Lovely cottage great location. Had a wonderful break"
Samantha – 4 Jan 2018
"This was such a cozy place for us to spend New Years together as an extended family. The house is very cute and comfortable and had everything we needed. We enjoyed long walks in the countryside and the delicious fare of several local pubs. We'd definitely come again!"
Bryan – 18 Dec 2017
"Our group of seven adults found the cottage very comfortable and the equipment was more than adequate. We visited in late Dec. so we're not able to enjoy the lovely garden area."
Kerry – 4 Nov 2017
"What a wonderful place. Clean, comfortable and spacious. Near to Stratford and Warwick for busy days with the children then back to this tranquil setting with its glorious views. Perfect."
EIFFLAENDER – 19 Oct 2017
"Very spacious yet cosy and tastefully presented. Ideal accommodation for half a dozen ladies and the excellent facilities meant no queues for the shower! We would definitely consider staying again."
Pat – 16 Oct 2017
"Excellent facilities. Great for family get-togethers. Plenty of hot water and comfy beds with lots of bathrooms!Only disappointment was lack of play equipment in enclosed garden."
Graham – 9 Oct 2017
"A good place to explore the local attractions"
Lynn – 8 Sep 2017
"Beautiful old beamed barn conversion/cottage. Spacious with ground floor bedroom and shower room. Three spacious upstairs bedrooms, double en-suite, main bathroom. Beautiful, large enclosed garden. Close to amenities, lots to do."
Wendy – 11 Aug 2017
"Fabulous cottage with lots of period character. Felt very homely straight away. Very cosy & comfortable. We all had a lovely time together. Lots of space for everyone to enjoy. Easy access to some lovely local towns."

Derek – 15 May 2017
"All seven of us had a brilliant long weekend with a family party on the Saturday. And the weather helped a bit as well. Alcester and Stratford were visited, and well worth the time.Thank you."
Confirmed guest – 1 May 2017
"We had a lovely long weekend, only minor negative is that there was no casserole dishes for the oven or microwave dishes, rest of kitchen equipment very well supplied, lots of pans and oven trays etc"
Sal – 7 Apr 2017
"Charming cottage with a large garden for children to play in."
Julie – 13 Mar 2017
"We stayed at S37374 whilst competing at Crufts. We booked here because they accepted more than one dog. Excellent property, well equiped. Lovely contry walks for the dogs. we loved the calm and tranquilty."
Karen – 16 Feb 2017
"The cottage was comfortable and well appointed. The rooms were large and well decorated. The location was peaceful and relaxing. We would thoroughly recommended S37374."
Beckie – 6 Feb 2017
"The cottage was lovely and very well equipped. My only negatives would be that the downstairs bedroom was very cold as it is so close to the back door. The radiator did not give out much heat even turned to maximum. The dishwasher didn't work either 😕."
Elaine
"This is a lovely barn in a beautiful country setting - pretty village but with Stratford and Alcester nearby. The house is well equipped with everything you need. Owner helpful and responsive. We were a mixed generation family group and it suited all of us. Pet friendly. We enjoyed it in December but it would be great in the summer when you coukd make the most of the beautiful garden. We would definitely recommend."
Sue
"Great property definitely recommend !!"
Hannah
"The property location was lovely, but the seating in the lounge was a disappointment, the one sofa really only seated 4 people, and we were a party of 7. The garden was lovely, the children really enjoyed that. We had an awful smell of cigarette smoke in the upstairs bedrooms adjoining the property next door due to poor insulation maybe, which was concerning as that was where my children were sleeping."
G
"Very enjoyable week, lovely garden and the cottage is well equipped"
Ben
"Two families with young children stayed at the cottage over the weekend. The bedrooms were great for what we wanted, bathrooms were clean as was the rest of the cottage. The back garden was enjoyed by the children, running around and playing on the slide. The kitchen was a bit haphazard - lots of pots & pans, t-pots. there were plenty of utensils, but no coffee pot for the Sunday morning.!!Only downside was the duck pond didn't have a fence around it so we had to be alert. The cottage is a bit out of the way, but that didn't bother us in the slightest, you are in easy reach of some really good places. The Fish pub, great Sunday lunch - has to be seen!"
Sheila
"Lovely setting, extremely quiet environment. Convenient for Stratford. Lovely cottage, but let down by lack of attention to ongoing maintenance /housekeeping."
Tricia
"While it wasn't all bad, it is worth noting that the garden cannot be used by children as its full of dog dirt from the neighbour's dog. One of the bedrooms seems to have poor insulation between it and its neighbour as cigarette smoke traveled into the cottage from next door. The plumbing in the kitchen needs attention because cold water is rarely accessible because the tap doesn't work properly."
Paul
"Lovely location and good accommodation so a great option for us. The cottage sleeps up to seven people but there is only seating for a maximum of five in the lounge area. We only had four so it wasn't a problem but it's hard to see how it would work with another three people in the group."
Satinder
"We stayed at the S37374 last week and had nothing less than unmatched customer service from Roger when compared to other places we have stayed at before. We had an unfortunate incident with a water leak and Roger made good any inconvenience we had and went far beyond what we expected. The cottage itself was clean, spacious, and accommodating with some welcoming treats upon arrival.I would highly recommend this cottage and any other accommodation that falls under Roger's watchful eye."
