Take a trip to the Cotswold Water Park with its many lakes for recreation and leisure activities including sailing, jet skiing, fishing and bird watching. Alternatively why not visit the North Meadow National Nature Reserve, which is home to the UKs largest population of wild Snakeshead Fritillaries? A 15 minute drive takes you to the market town of Cirencester with a unique mix of independent and national shops as well as a good range of pubs and restaurants. Further afield you can visit the town of Cheltenham, Bath or Gloucester with their classy shops and restaurants, all surrounded by beautiful countryside. Whatever you decide to do, Straw Paddock Cottage is an ideal location for those who wish to explore the Cotswold scenery or soak up the nearby cosmopolitan and historic towns.
Cricklade is a town on the River Thames in North Wiltshire, midway between Swindon and Cirencester as well as being the southern gateway to the Cotswolds. The Thames Path National Trail passes through the town, which is an excellent base for walkers or cyclists and visitors to the Cotswold area and Cotswold Water Park which boasts 140 lakes for recreation and leisure activities including sailing, water or jet skiing, fishing and bird watching. The High Street has a range of shops, pubs, cafes and hotels as well as many of the towns historical building and places to enjoy.
