Built out of local limestone under a thatched roof, the cottage has been lovingly restored and both its chocolate-box exterior, complete with roses around the door, and well-presented interior make this a highly desirable retreat to spend a few days’ break or an extended holiday.

No detail has been overlooked, from the roaring log fire in the original inglenook fireplace on a cool day to the cosy beds for resting you weary head at the end of a hectic day. There are fantastic walks along the meadows of River Wylye, a large chalk stream which runs 50 yards from the property. An idyllic and calming place to really get away from it all.

Fisherton de la Mere is a hidden gem of a community, consisting of just a few cottages, a mill house and an ancient 14th century church. It’s the perfect escape in country yet is just a few minutes from the A303 running from London to the West Country.

Ideally located for exploring the almost limitless attractions available in the beautiful part of Southern England, you can take a trip out to the cathedral city of Salisbury (12miles), Stonehenge (9 miles), Stourhead (National Trust – 17 miles), Longleat (14 miles), the World Heritage city of Bath (30 miles) and the New Forest National Park (20 miles).

Church Steps Cottage is able to host a small family or couple within the comfort of a traditional, modern cottage that will make you relax within the Wiltshire country side.

Fisherton de la Mere is located on the banks of the River Wylye and consists of just a few cottages, a mill house and an ancient 14th century church, yet is only a few minutes away from the main route into London to the West Country. The Wylye Valley itself offers multiple foot paths, bridleways and cycleways. For shopping, Salisbury is twelve miles away and there is several good farm shops within the vicinity.
