About this property

Cosy Cot is a detached country cottage found in Stapleford, Wiltshire. It is near the historic village church with its Norman origins and stunning décor, while every part of its original charm has been carefully preserved. It is perfect for friends and families.

A brick pathway leads to a thatched entrance porch and opens to a living room with two sofas, a TV and DVD player. It has special features such as the inglenook fireplace with its bressummer beam. There is a ‘shaker style’ fitted kitchen, a utility room and a family bathroom and WC. On the first floor they have two king-size bedrooms and one twin bedroom.

This cottage is a short walk from the local pub The Pelican Inn and its 12th century church can be found in Wylye Valley. Wylye Valley itself has magnificent views of the countryside and several footpaths, brindleways and cycleways which lead into its picturesque villages, with many welcoming country pubs.

It is a short drive to Stonehenge and further tourist spots such as Stourhead, Longleat Safari Park, New Forest National Park and the South Dorset Jurassic coastline. You will also find shopping and sightseeing opportunities in Salisbury, which is only seven miles away.

Cosy Cot is an ideal destination for friends and family holidays.

The medieval city of Salisbury is the jewel in Wiltshire's crown, dominated by the majestic 13th century Gothic cathedral. The cathedral offers 750 years of history including Britain's tallest spire, the world's best preserved original Magna Carta, and Europe's oldest working clock. The surrounding cathedral close, full of architectural gems, is bordered by the River Avon and ancient Chilmark stone walls. The city offers historic streets with charming half-timbered buildings, traditional pubs, characterful shops and a twice-weekly market. Or, stroll along the Town Path and take in the awe-inspiring views across the water meadows towards the cathedral. After dark, there's a thriving arts scene, including one of the country's leading repertory theatres, a lively arts centre, cinema and a wealth of independent restaurants. Should you want to explore further afield then a short drive from Salisbury takes you to Stonehenge, the National Trust's Stourhead House and gardens, majestic Wilton House, as well as the New Forest National Park, and the Hampshire and Dorset coasts. There's so much to see and do in Salisbury and surrounding area that your only concern will be finding the time to do it all!

It was picture perfect and very comfortable. The location was tranquil and well situated for day trips out to numerous places in Wiltshire and it's neighbouring counties. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for helping make our holiday a good one.

The property is very pretty in a quiet location. The beds were so comfortable but I would suggest a darker curtain in the back double bedroom. A few of the windows need fixing, so that they can close properly. The pelican pub is walkable from the cottage along the road or you can go across the field which is quicker. We also took a bus into Salisbury which stops at the bus shelter just a couple of minutes walk from the cottage. It only cost £2.00 & comes once an hour. There is also a lovely church which you can visit. I would recommend the Cosycot for anyone who wants a quiet, relaxing weekend away in the country with special friends.

A real traditional cottage in the most picturesque location. We enjoyed every moment there and will be sure to visit again very soon!
