Set on a working farm, with the encouraging sounds of wildlife encompassing the area, this lovely cottage exudes a quality feel with flagstone floors. Retaining some of its original features, inside you will find a luxurious open-plan living room with exposed beams and underfloor heating. The sitting room boasts a charming woodburner set within the inglenook, and mullioned windows are filled with green landscape scenery from outside. The kitchen is contemporary in style with spotlight illuminating the good quality fixtures. Climb the plush carpeted staircase to the modern bathroom at the top. Indulge in a nice hot soak in the roll top bath after a long day touring this delightful region of Yorkshire. A set of well-presented bedrooms offer zip and link beds to suit your preferred choice of sleeping arrangements. There is plenty of off-road parking at the front of the house, and a lovely enclosed garden at the side. Sit outside with views across to the moors while you sip a lovely glass of wine on a sunny afternoon, or relax in the hot tub after a long day of exploring the local area. Ripponden is a delightful village steeped in history, with its Roman road and Neolithic and Bronze Age remains scattering the area. Rishworth Moor is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and home to many rare animals, as well as the Cat Stones, a series of ancient round barrow burial sites. This village is made up of traditional stone-built cottages, and a small high street with shops, cafes, and several excellent pubs serving food and real ale, all with the River Ryburn flowing gently through the centre. Nearby, Hedben Bridge is a diverse town with restaurants, bars, art galleries and the Rochdale Canal. There is a plethora of walking and cycling opportunities close by, with the Peak District in driving distance. Explore this fantastic region of West Yorkshire from the ideal base.

We really liked that it was an ancient building renovated to such a high standard. It was very warm and comfortable and all the facilities worked well. Having the zip-link beds is a very good idea and for our party, a major point in selecting the property. We appreciated the hot tub which was warm enough to use even though the weather was cold and we had wonderful views over the countryside. Some recommendations from our group: a bannister was seen as a useful addition especially for older guests, a big teapot, more plastic glasses for use in the hot tub and a better fitting filter. One person was surprised at the request to strip our own beds. The only major difficulty was communication with Sykes as I struggled to find an email or phone number. All-in all we had a lovely weekend and I'd like to come back in the summer. Thank you very much.
