This superbly restored, former estate stone cottage offers excellent terraced holiday accommodation in the heart of the village of Brantingham opposite the village pond and green. It has modern internal features, including high speed fibre broadband, a bespoke kitchen, feature brick barbecue, patio furniture and sun umbrella for an al fresco meal, sofa bed (for alternative sleeping only), and an oak staircase, leading to galleried landing with a desk and views of the village green. It has quality oak furniture, and furnishings created with the help of an interior designer. The property also has special lighting, underfloor heating downstairs and in the bathroom, and provides a lovely base to explore the area from or simply relax in. Luxury toiletries, bathrobes and bed linen are also provided. It benefits from a south-facing garden with built-in barbecue and it is only a short walk to the village pub and restaurant. On arrival, guests will receive a hamper of local produce to help them settle in. At Christmas time, it is decorated for that festive cheer.
The owners offer customers free sessions with their dog at Hunsdale Fields, which is a 3 acre field for your dog to run free.

You might never want to leave the village, but if you do, there is plenty to do in the local area, including Beverley with its cobbled streets, racecourse, minster and courtyards. Hull is only 12 miles away, with its 2017 City of Culture status, museums, Humber Bridge, Hull Truck Theatre and The Deep aquarium. Hull University is only 13 miles away, making S14917 ideal for parents visiting their children, taster weeks and graduation. Further afield there is Burton Constable Hall, Castle Howard, North York Moors and Xscape Yorkshire (which boasts the country’s biggest real snow slope). York, with its minster, Shambles, museums, nearby Yorkshire Air Museum and boat trips, is 28 miles away. Cyclists and walkers will love the rolling hills and many established walks, including the Yorkshire Wolds Way and Coast to Coast cycle route, which are accessed from outside the door. For those that enjoy a game of golf, Cave Castle, Brough and Hessle golf courses are nearby. Metal detecting (on private land) and fishing can be arranged. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 200 yards.
Large living room with wood-burning stove and wooden floor. Large kitchen/dining room with gas/electric range (for cooking), coffee machine and wooden floor. Separate toilet. "An excellent long weekend break enjoyed by my husband and I along with our dog. The cottage on arrival was warm and very welcoming with a lovely hamper full of goodies!"
    Hayley – 21 Nov 2018
"A beautiful cottage in a lovely location. The owners couldn’t do enough for you. The welcome hamper and home made bread were excellent. Highly recommended and will be going back."
    Claire – 12 Nov 2018
"Words cannot explain how magnificent S14917 is! The owners go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect in every way and they are very kind and considerate. The generous welcome hamper with lots of goodies was very well received by us! Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and spacious with a lovely cosy interior – the log burner was great. Very pretty and well-maintained patio garden with plenty of space, not crammed in. Good pub and restaurant within a 5 minute walk and a supermarket and farm shop only a short drive away. Great links to all of Yorkshire – could have spent weeks here exploring. Unlimited free sessions at an exclusive use and secure dog field called Hunsdale Fields which was about ¾ of a mile away, perfect for our border terrier and another excellent perk of staying here! I could go on – the reviews speak for themselves! Can’t wait to return."
    Jancis – 31 Oct 2018
"We had a lovely stay in S14917. It was beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything you might need. A very generous welcome pack and warm bread met us on our arrival. Our daughter loved her stay here and we enjoyed the tranquility of the village and nearby country side. We would definitely come back."
    Brian – 21 Oct 2018
"We have stayed in many cottages over the last 40 years and S14917 is the best cottage that we ever stayed in. The Owners go to great lengths to maintain a very high standard. It ticks all the boxes. We hope to return in the not too distant future."
    Kenneth – 16 Sep 2018
"This cottage is perfect in every way.We arrived to a hamper of goodies ,a crate full of local and homegrown fruit and veg ,homemade strawberry jam ,which was delicious.homemade flapjacks which were divine ,treats in a jar for our dog .Everything has been thought of and thought out ,there was also home made bread cooking in the bread machine as we arrived, milk in the fridge as well as butter. The decor was perfect and the cottage spotless.Martin and Catherine despite being very busy go way beyond what you would expect ,they are lovely people. They allow you use of their purpose built dog exercise field for free ,which is an amazing place for your dog ,ours loved it.There is nothing at all negative we can say we loved it and will definitinally be returning hopefully on a regular basis .We felt so relaxed and comfortable .on a personal note ,I don’t normally sleep but slept like a log every night we were there.I can’t recommend this cottage enough ,if I could would give it 20 out of ten ,Thank you to Martin and Catherine."
    Carole – 7 Sep 2018
"This lovely cottage is absolutely superb. Martin and Catherine have thought of everything. Their attention to detail was fantastic. A text saying the bread would be ready an hour after arriving (perfect timing!) was a delightful surprise and better still the warm bread with homemade jam made for a perfect start to a perfect week. The cottage itself is truly 5 star - I’d give it more if I could! Lovely and clean, everything you could need was their plus extras like a hamper with Yorkshire goodies, a fruit bowl with locally produced plums etc. Then in the fridge a big selection of local veg 😊 the cottage garden is a lovely sun trap. I could go on but just book it for yourself and you’ll see..... I can’t wait to go back and have already booked. Oh and there’s tons to do in the local area just look on trip advisor 😊"
    Jill – 25 Aug 2018
"A stunning cottage with great section to detail and lovely treats provided from the lovely owners. We loved our stay. Highly recommend."
    Brad – 4 Aug 2018
"A well presented cottage which provided a comfortable base for our holiday. The hosts were thoughtful in assembling a lovely hamper with local treats, and it was really nice to have salad, veg. and fruit as well."
    Jane – 17 Jul 2018
"By far the nicest cottage we have stayed in, and fantastic for us that they allow a dog. Very generous hamper of goodies, home-made and home-grown produce, we felt really spoilt. Cottage is immaculate and comfortable with a spacious well-equipped kitchen, in a great location for visiting towns in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and surrounded by beautiful countryside and walks from the door. A lovely enclosed south facing garden with seating, with a sitting area out the front to catch the last of the evening sunshine overlooking the village green. Great pub down the road serving good food, and shop a short drive away.An added bonus of very kind and caring owners who could not do enough for us while never intruding. We can't wait to return."
    Catherine – 9 Jul 2018

"It was as if we had borrowed a friends house. They left fresh produce too. Lots of things made us feel very welcome and not just a business arrangement. Well done Pond Cottage,a lovely stay."
    Rebecca – 8 Jun 2018
"Myself and my partner had a lovely few days staying at the cottage. The village was beautiful, the people were very friendly but the highlight really was the cottage. It was immaculate and had everything we needed. The fridge was stocked with some lovely local produce on arrival and some personal touches made it extra special.Just round the corner was a very nice pub. We didn’t eat there but enjoyed a few drinks in the beer garden. Closely followed by a drink in the garden at Pond View as we were lucky enough to have a sunny week and it really is a sun trap, front and back! The small shop was only a short drive away and the supermarket just a bit further, perfect if you’ve forgotten tonic/lemonade for your gin!Highly recommend S14917. Thank you Martin and Catherine!"

"This was our second visit to S14917 and every bit as good as our previous stay. The owners maintain a very high standard and we hope to be spending more time at this cottage in the future."
