About this property

Stay in Nora Batty’s Cottage! A unique opportunity to enjoy a fabulous holiday in pennine West Yorkshire while staying in one of the most famous and recognisable homes in British television history. Accessed by its famous steps, the picturesque riverside cottage situated at 28 Huddersfield Road, in the Summer Wine town of Holmfirth is the former home of bossy battleaxe and TV comedy icon, Nora Batty. Her characterful, two-bedroomed home is furnished and presented just the way she liked it, and it is also something of a shrine to Last of the Summer Wine with wonderful pictures from the series displayed throughout. Vintage, retro, and more than a little nostalgic, yet home-from-home with all mod-cons. Be the envy of thousands of Summer Wine fans worldwide. Book now to enjoy a highly unusual holiday experience. Nora’s three-storey cottage was built in the late eighteenth century and is in a conservation area. It enjoys a scenic riverside setting, yet it is located close to Holmfirth town centre, and thereby just a short walk from its many shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Inside, the cottage offers a surprising amount of accommodation. There is a flag-floored dining kitchen, a spacious and comfortable lounge, two large bedrooms and a big bathroom equipped with both a freestanding bath and a separate shower. Nora’s historic cottage is characterful and cosy, and comes equipped with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

The old traditional Pennine town of Holmfirth is situated in the heart of the beautiful Holme Valley, on the edge of the West Yorkshire Pennines. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, there is more to Holmfirth than Compo and Nora Battye’s stockings! The ‘Picturedrome’, the North of England’s finest live music venue attracts many famous bands and is located right in the centre of the town.
