An amazing lodge! We always book lodges based on previous reviews and this did not disappoint. The layout of the lodge was identical to the last three lodge breaks we’ve had so we knew what to expect and we were more than happy with the sofas, beds, furnishings and kitchen equipment. The only thing missing for us was a coffee machine of some sort but you could take your own cafetière for fresh coffee. We specifically booked a lodge with parking outside and we had a lovely spot. We had no view from our hot tub which is something we’d normally choose but it was private with some glass panels enclosing the decking. I had an issue with the cleanliness of the kitchen on arrival and also the dust/hair around the bathroom floor. I immediately emailed the resort and a member of management was over within the hour. She was keen to clean it herself but I had already done it. She assured me this was not usually a problem but would address the matter at a meeting with housekeeping later that week and it by no means ruined our stay or impression of our lodge. The only other upset was that we had to leave the peace and tranquillity when our week was over.

We had a Sunday lunch booked at the restaurant which has been booked a week prior. When we arrived we were seated at a drinks table by the bar which was so low our knees were above the tables and we barely fit in the seats. It felt like sitting a child's table and in fact only our 4 year old was comfortable sitting there. When we asked if we could move to a table fit to be able to enjoy our food we were told there weren't any available. Not something you would expect when you prebook. We were so uncomfortable and unhappy with this service that we ended up leaving and were extremely upset as felt humiliated with being unable to sit comfortably in the seats.I cannot fault the lodge and hot tub experience. There is not alot to do in the area but having the space to relax in the lodge was a welcomed break.
