About this property

This fresh, well-appointed cottage is an annexe to the owner's home in the historic North Yorkshire village of Husthwaite. With the Howardian Hills and North York Moors close by, this cottage is perfect for a couple of walkers wanting to discover what these incredible areas have to offer. After an exhilarating day of exploring and venturing through the local area, curl up and watch the TV on the comfortable leather sofa which conveniently sits opposite the cottage's front door. The ground floor is occupied by a spacious open-plan living area, complete with a modern and well-equipped kitchen and a dining table set for four people, should you want to invite some friends over for dinner. The crisp, white first floor provides you with a homely bedroom, complete with stunning views of the surrounding countryside; the room boasts a twin bed which can be pushed together to make a super king-size double and a luscious en-suite shower room. In the sunny weather, sit out on the delightful lawn garden and enjoy a refreshing drink, accompanied by luscious, rural views. Husthwaite is an ideal, peaceful village to base your cottage holiday, offering a pub and a shop to buy your daily essentials. From here, you can either venture through the breath-taking Howardian Hills, which lie adjacent to Husthwaite, or you can discover the charming nearby towns and cities with their beautiful buildings and fine range of amenities, including the instantly recognisable, ancient city of York. Sunnyside Garden Cottage is a delightful annexe cottage in a desirable location for those keen to explore North Yorkshire.

The village of Husthwaite lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, overlooking the Vale of York. The village has a Norman church, old houses and a village hall hosting events. The market town of Easingwold is nearby, boasting a market square and a selection of shops, pubs and cafés. York is also a short drive away. The Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors and Coast are within distance and are rich in stately homes and National Trust attractions - Harewood House and Castle Howard are just two of several within an hour's drive.

We found it to be comfortable and warm with good facilities. Access was a little tight between the hedges but manageable nevertheless in a medium sized car.
