There is also a secure shed available for cycle storage. The small village of Harome is lined with pretty stone cottages and has a lovely village pond, as well as benefiting from two award-winning inns, one with a Michelin starred restaurant. The pretty town of Helmsley, just three miles away, has a good selection of amenities including pubs, delis and restaurants, as well as the inviting cafes and bookshops which line the historic cobbled market square and narrow lanes leading off. Helmsley Castle and the Walled Garden, whilst Duncombe Park gardens and parklands, with a Bird of Prey Centre, are just four miles away. With easy access to the pretty coastal seaside towns, the North York Moors and the historic city of York with its many attractions, this appealing property will foster lots of happy memories. The lively market town of Pickering lies twelve miles east of Harome and offers twice-weekly markets along the main street, along with museums, a trout fishing lake and the terminus of the North York Moors Steam Railway. Situated on the edge of the North York Moors, visitors to the pretty village of Harome can be sure of an idyllic place to stay. Lining the main street is a lovely selection of old stone cottages which surround the central feature of the village - a wonderful duck pond. Two excellent inns - one of which sells local produce - make up the settlement's amenities, but just three miles away is the prestigious market town of Helmsley, with its historic market square surrounded by hotels, shops and tea-rooms. The town boasts a 12th century castle whilst the English Heritage site, Rievaulx Abbey, is also close by. The outlying area is excellent walking country and ramblers can enjoy exploring the surrounding moors with their hidden dales and villages.
