These consist of a king-size double, a double with exposed beams on a mezzanine floor, which is reached by a spiral staircase from the twin bedroom, which intern has its own en-suite bathroom. This superb cottage has a lovely lawned garden complete with barbecue and picnic area, which overlooks fields, providing a very private aspect and the perfect place to relax with a refreshing drink, whilst planning the next days adventures. There is a wealth of things to do in the area, with the wonderful city of York only five miles away and there's a bonus of a park and ride facility only a five minute drive away from this lovely cottage. York has a plethora of visitor attractions such as the iconic York Minster, the Jorvik Viking Centre, the Shambles, Castle Museum, Clifford's Tower, National Railway Museum and so much more you will have to return again and again! Visits to the Howardian Hills, which form an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Castle Howard, the North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and the lovely Yorkshire coastline all make fabulous days out. This superb cottage is an excellent touring base for exploring this fabulous part of the country.
The city of York needs no recommendation, for it teems with interest for the holidaymaker. York boasts the Minster, medieval walls, boat trips on the River Ouse, York Races, museums (including the famous National Railway Museum and the Castle Museum), and the internationally-renowned Jorvik Viking Centre.

Great base for visiting York which is what we wanted to do, only 10 min drive to the park & ride facility which was great. Also lovely that there was a welcome pack in the cottage when we arrived, so could make a much needed cuppa straight away! Great communication too from Jayne to give exact directions & access information for the property. We would definitely come back again & would recommend to friends if they want to visit York.
