The cosy living room has a wood burner and the sitting room offers a sofa bed for flexible sleeping if required. With the owner living next door, this is a super spot for couples or families who enjoy wildlife walking and being around horses, as it is also situated on the owner’s licensed equestrian centre, where you can bring your own horse by prior arrangement for a variety of training sessions or escorted hacks on the extensive grounds (horses are not available for hire).
A walkers’ paradise, there are plenty of rambles from the doorstep, and the wonderful bird and sea life of this dramatic coast is easily spotted from the quaint fishing villages along the bottom of the cliffs a short drive away. Visit nearby Banff, home to Duff House, a country house gallery with extensive woodland and riverside walks on the banks of the Deveron, and Duff House Royal golf course open to non-members. The Marine Aquarium at neighbouring Macduff is well worth a visit or you may wish to explore the plentiful supply of historic buildings and dramatic ruins which populate this fascinating area. Both Crovie and Pennan are well worth a visit, reached by steep winding roads to the bottom of the cliffs to which they cling. Beach 25½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 1.5 miles.
