Low Shore sleeping up to 4 guests

Explore the beautiful area of Aberdeenshire with pretty seaside towns dotted along the coastline and inland, rolling hills, mountains and farmland.
Just yards from the seashore in the quaint village of Whitehills, this delightful detached coastal cottage offers comfort and tranquillity throughout the year. The living room with its beamed ceiling and cosy wood burner is a wonderfully relaxing room where you can sit and enjoy a glass of wine while viewing the ever changing sea. Upstairs the rooms are attractively furnished with comfort firmly in mind and again make the most of the view, where seals and other marine life are often spotted inshore. The rear of the cottage boasts a lovely garden made up of patios and borders with shrubs, a perfect sheltered place for a barbeque. There are a number of good walks in the village peppered with information boards describing the village life in days gone by. Today, the harbour holds berths for pleasure crafts and yachts rather than fishing boats, but there are plenty of places nearby which sell fresh fish and other goodies from the sea. The picturesque path towards Banff Links meanders along the shore which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and a haven for geologists. Enjoy a round of golf at Duff House Royal in Banff, 3 miles, where good shops and eateries can also be found. This is a great base for visiting the other Banffshire and Moray villages and towns including Portsoy, Cullen, and further west, Lossiemouth and Elgin. Beach 400 yards. Shop, pub and restaurant 200 yards.

    David – 19 Nov 2018
"Excellent cottage with everything you need, the pizza oven is an excellent addition. We enjoyed our stay and are already planning a return visit. The location is great and spent most mornings watching the seals on the rocks out front of the cottage. Pub, restaurant, shop and fish shop all within walking distance."
    Ken – 1 Nov 2018
"A lovely well equipped, comfortable and clean cottage, close enough to the shore to hear the waves. Well placed to explore the coast or inland towards all those fantastic distilleries also a really generous welcome hamper. We'd love to stay again hopefully with better weather so to enjoy the great outdoor seating area and pizza oven."
    Doreen – 19 Oct 2018
"We have stayed in many cottages throughout the land. I must say that this cottage beat them all by miles and we have stayed in some great ones. Everything was quality. The welcome pack was amazing. The log store was fab and there was no restriction on how many you could use. So cosy and warm. Convenient for visiting other towns. The local fresh fish shop was very good and well priced. The beach was good and seal watching was a delight."

"Stayed at S89082 for a week 18-25 August 2018. Lovely cottage excellent location, very well equipped, lovely views, walks, pub nice and handy. All in all very nice cottage indeed."
    Steve – 13 Aug 2018
"This is a great cottage, very thoughtfully restored & equipped. The welcome pack was the best ever, even treats for the dog!Location is great, lovely waking up to the sound of waves. The only reason I gave a 9 is that it was a double bed, I am not a small bloke & have not slept in one for decades, so not really the owners fault, but the room could take a king size (or I could lose weight!) :-)Beach shack & pizza oven were great fun.Brill cottage, stay here!"
    Jenny – 5 Aug 2018
"Lovely cottage, beautifully decorated and well appointed. Light and airy but also cosy and welcoming. Perfectly pitched for a home from home!Lots of nice touches in the house and garden, everything was clean and in working order. Generous welcome pack and helpful things in the kitchen for picnics like sandwich bags and a really good veg peeler!! The cottage has lovely views out of the master bedroom and living room, it's so nice to see boats passing by or coming in and out of the harbour but Whitehills doesn't have many shops or eateries so you definitely need to have a car and get out and about if you're not eating in. Portsoy is lovely as are other little villages like Gardenstown and Pennan. Macduff has a good aquariu for kids. Fraserburgh has a couple of good museums and some nice sandy beaches nearby, Maggie's hoosie is worth seeking out in Inverallochy for history buffs then there are lots of nice vistas and interesting spots down to the sea from the coast road. We found everyone we met to be very friendly and finding Harbucks at Gardenstown harbour was a stroke of luck! It's probably a location better suited to nature-lovers, dog- owners, geologists, quirk- seekers and and home cooks who can make the most of local nature reserves and viewpoints and walks and the pizza oven, excellent cooker and BBQ at the cottage as there aren't masses of nice shops or restaurants very close by though there is Portsoy Marble and a pottery in the village. Wish S89082 could be transported like a tardis around the country to every other patch we want to explore!"

"We had a lovely week holiday from the 7/14 of July 2018 the cottage was lovely so peaceful .and quiet and beautiful sea views from the cottage and garden .the garden was beautifly done everything was thought through .the only small issue and it is a small issue was the 02 mobile reception there is none. Overall would not hesitate in booking again ."
    anna – 10 Jul 2018
"Best cottage we have ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful cottage, garden and location only wished we had booked for two weeks instead of one. Will definitely be booking again."
    SUSAN – 10 Jul 2018
"This is the best cottage we have stayed in, for every reason. The location was fabulous, the quality of the cottage itself, equipment (kitchen and garden especially)....just everything, it was perfect. The garden is beautiful, well maintained and a little sun trap. With the cottage being on the shore front it is an ideal location for relaxing. The garden (and house) is extremely dog friendly with a fabulous enclosed garden with lots of room for meandering. With the three seating areas you are able to follow the sun to ensure it is captured all day long. The furniture and furnishings are all of sound quality and tasteful. Wifi is a help although you don't need this as time is better spent relaxing. We will definitely return, possibly in the winter to experience a different time of year. FABULOUS."
