About this property

A charming stone-built, semi-detached house, dating back to 1793 in the village of Kirkcowan, on the Machars Peninsula in Galloway, in South West Scotland. Fully refurbished, this welcoming property provides comfortable accommodation for up to five people in three bedrooms, consisting of a king-size master bedroom with en-suite shower, as well as a twin and single bedroom that share a bathroom. The sitting room has a lovely woodburning stove and for entertainment, there's an HD flat screen TV and DVD player, along with a piano in the hall. Also in the sitting room is a dining area, so can you choose to eat here, or at the breakfast bar in the well-equipped kitchen. The rear garden has a patio and a lawned area, or you can even enjoy outdoor table tennis at the owners’ property next door. There are walks from the property that take you out into the countryside, and you will find a warm welcome on your return at the village inn. Kirkcowan also offers a Post Office and a general store. Why not visit Whithorn Priory & Museum, with its display of ancient carved stones, indulge in the Wigtown Book Festival, or stretch your legs at the Newton Stewart Walking Festival? Challenge yourself on Europe’s longest zip wire at the Laggan Outdoor Activity Centre, or visit the award-winning Cream O’ Galloway ice cream factory and visitor centre. This delightful property has something for everyone.

Kirkcowan is a rural illage in Wigtownshire in Dumfries and Galloway. Located about seven miles west of Newton Stewart, the village offers a shop, a Post Office and the Craighlaw Arms Hotel, a 200-year old coaching inn. Popular with walkers and anglers, the village is also situated on the 25-mile Yellow Cycle Route of the National Cycle Route 7.
